Due to the effects of heat and intense heat combined with low humidity in the air, there is a risk of explosions and fires in residential areas due to increased demand for electricity and the risk of forest fires. In addition, heat can also cause dehydration, exhaustion, and heat stroke in the human body when exposed to high temperatures for a long time.

Note: The forecast temperature in the heat bulletin and the actual felt temperature outside can differ by 2-4 degrees, or even higher depending on the surface conditions such as concrete and asphalt.

Coping with heavy rain, lightning, hail and strong winds

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the night of June 20 and the morning of June 21, the mountainous areas of the North had moderate to heavy rain, with some places experiencing extremely heavy rain such as Tan Lap (Ha Giang) 435mm, Nhat Tien (Lang Son) 150mm. The North is forecast to continue to have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with localized heavy rain; thunderstorms are likely to cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind; there is a risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas.

In order to proactively respond and minimize damage, the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control requests the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of provinces and cities to:

1. Organize inspections of areas where heavy rain has occurred to promptly deploy response forces, rescue, and support people to overcome consequences (if any).

2. Deploy shock forces to inspect and review residential areas along rivers, streams, low-lying areas, and areas at high risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides to proactively clear the flow, organize the relocation and evacuation of people when situations arise.

3. Closely monitor warning bulletins, natural disaster forecasts, weather, timely and regular notifications and guidance for authorities and people at all levels to proactively prevent and minimize damage.

4. Direct specialized agencies to coordinate with provincial television stations and media agencies, especially at grassroots levels, to propagate, disseminate, and instruct people on how to recognize and respond to thunderstorms with tornadoes, lightning, hail, strong gusts of wind and heavy rain, flash floods, and landslides to minimize damage.

5. Organize a permanent presence, closely monitor weather and natural disaster developments, and regularly compile reports to the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control.
