Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's "strong" and "sincere" trip

This morning, March 12, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived in Hanoi, successfully concluding their trip to attend the Special Summit to celebrate 50 years of ASEAN-Australia relations and pay an official visit to Australia and New Zealand from March 5-11.

Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski assessed that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit was a "historic occasion" and that the upgrading of diplomatic relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries during this visit was a historic achievement. That is truly the result of the relationship of trust and understanding between the two countries after more than 50 years of diplomatic relations, 15 years of establishing a Comprehensive Partnership and 6 years of a Strategic Partnership.

As for Wellington, needless to say, the warmth came not only from the beautiful weather in the New Zealand capital on the day of the official welcome ceremony, from the traditional Maori welcoming ceremony, but also from the handshake and hug on the back of Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, full of trust, when he led Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh into the meeting room. On this occasion, the Vietnamese and Australian Ministries of Defense signed a new Memorandum of Understanding on peacekeeping cooperation. On March 5, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced a 2 billion AUD fund for ASEAN, helping to promote Australian investment in the ASEAN region in general and Vietnam in particular.

Australia also announced AUD 95 million to help Vietnam's Mekong region mitigate the impacts of climate change last year, and this year, a number of Australian companies have mentioned investing in offshore wind projects in Vietnam. About 1,000 Vietnamese workers will come to Australia this year to work in the agricultural sector, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced at a press conference immediately after the two Prime Ministers' talks.

At a joint press conference after the talks, the New Zealand Prime Minister affirmed that New Zealand will continue to invest in Vietnam in the fields of agriculture and environmental protection; the authorities of the two countries signed three cooperation documents in the fields of education - training, trade and finance.

Meeting overseas Vietnamese is always a priority activity in the busy diplomatic schedule of the head of government.

Overseas Vietnamese in Australia are overwhelmingly more numerous (500,000 people) than in New Zealand (about 15,000 people), but wherever the Prime Minister's meetings were, the atmosphere was warm, because of his sincerity and simplicity. The question seemed to touch the Prime Minister's heart, he choked up when recalling his family's difficult childhood (which was also a period of war and poverty in the country). According to the Prime Minister, to be successful, in addition to personal efforts, the help and support of friends, brothers and comrades are very important. "Without the Party, the State and the People, how could a poor student like me be able to study abroad?", his voice dropped.

The Prime Minister's response to Ms. Minh is also the message he wants to send to those living abroad, that all difficulties will pass and that we should unite and strive to build an increasingly strong and prosperous community, so that individuals in it can be prosperous and happy.
