The special art program held in Nghi Xuan (Ha Tinh) has 3 chapters, aiming to commemorate the contributions and valuable heritage of Uy Vien General Nguyen Cong Tru - a talented politician , military strategist, talented economist and great cultural figure of the Vietnamese people.

On the evening of December 9, at Nguyen Du Square, Tien Dien town, Nghi Xuan district, an art program was held and the opening ceremony of the Half Marathon - Nghi Xuan 2023 was held to commemorate the 245th anniversary of the birth (December 19, 1778 - December 19, 2023) and the 165th anniversary of the death (November 14, 1858 - November 14, 2023 - lunar calendar) of Uy Vien Tuong Cong Nguyen Cong Tru.

Speaking at the opening of the art program, Chairman of Nghi Xuan District People's Committee Le Anh Dung reviewed the life and career of Uy Vien General Nguyen Cong Tru. He was from Uy Vien village, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province. He was a man with great contributions to the fields of politics, military , economy, and culture of our country in the first half of the 19th century.

Nguyen Cong Tru passed the regional exam and became a high-ranking official, promoted to the position of Deputy Minister of Justice, transferred to the position of Dinh Dien Su, appointed to the position of Bo Chanh Su of Hai Duong , then held the position of Governor of Hai Yen province, and later promoted to Phu Doan of Thua Thien province.

Growing up in a turbulent society, he soon nurtured great ambitions, determined to devote his strength, intelligence and enthusiasm to serving the country and the people with the aspiration "Having a reputation in heaven and earth/ Must have a name with the mountains and rivers".

In memory of the great contributions and valuable legacies of the famous Nguyen Cong Tru, Nghi Xuan district organized the art program Uy Vien Tuong Cong - a well-deserved reputation, consisting of 3 chapters: Chapter I: The singer of Giam - Ca Tru; Chapter II: Like a pine tree in the sky; Chapter III: Resounding in the mountains and rivers. The program was performed by singers Dinh Thanh Le, Cong Hoan and a group of artists and actors from Ha Tinh Traditional Arts Theater.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai and Secretary of the District Party Committee Phan Tan Linh honored athlete Nguyen Thi Ngoc (in Co Dam commune, Nghi Xuan district) - an athlete who won an Asian gold medal and 2 gold medals at the 32nd Sea Games.

The race was organized by the district to compete and award prizes on the morning of December 10 with nearly 1,400 professional and semi-professional athletes from the country and abroad registering to participate.
