On January 17, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a conference to review two years of implementing Conclusion 01 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive 05 on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle and deploying the construction of Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space in the city.
The conference was chaired by comrades: Nguyen Ho Hai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Le Hong Son, Standing Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
Diversify ways to spread learning and following Uncle Ho
District 10 Party Secretary Le Van Minh said that the district had organized a contest called “Uncle Ho’s teachings and our deeds”, written on paper, attracting many cadres, party members, people, students, and freelance workers to participate. Many articles expressed their enthusiasm and emotions with their feelings for Uncle Ho.
In particular, through the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space institutions in the area, the transformation of cadres, party members, association members and people of District 10 has been shown, demonstrated through the assessment and classification of civil servants and party members in 2022 and 2023. The entire Party Committee, government and people of District 10 are united and determined to effectively implement the system of district targets and tasks for the 2020-2025 term. People's lives are increasingly improved, currently District 10 no longer has poor households according to Ho Chi Minh City standards.
Sharing about the solution to propagate and mobilize all classes and classes of people to participate in building the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Ngo Thanh Son informed that in 2022, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated to implement the program "Simple Things". From this program, the city's Front system has formed ideas in implementing the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space. There, the space is not limited to building existing physical spaces such as bookshelves and reading corners, but can also be exploited from many intangible perspectives. Thereby contributing to changing the thinking, awareness, and actions in studying and following the ideology, morality, and style of Ho Chi Minh of the city's people.
At the grassroots Front system, there have been projects to build Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space associated with religious establishments, educational establishments; audiobook and e-book spaces; contests and seminars. In 2022, the City Front system mobilized 94 religious, worship and belief establishments to participate in propaganda to build Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space. In 2023, the City Front system continued to be the core to mobilize 113 religious establishments, folk belief establishments...
Many units have had good and creative ways of doing things, typically the Binh Chanh District Front with the model "100% of the houses of the Head of the Front Committee of hamlets and neighborhoods have Ho Chi Minh cultural space", which was then replicated in hamlets and residential groups. Each family was given a picture board and QR code about the life, background and career, stories and life lessons of President Ho Chi Minh.
For District 5 Front, Ho Chi Minh cultural space has been launched in over 50% of the neighborhood, many of which are open cultural spaces. Thanks to the solemn investment in Ho Chi Minh cultural space, the alley space of the neighborhood is more beautiful and brighter. At the space launching ceremonies, some people voluntarily brought memorabilia about President Ho Chi Minh to introduce to their neighbors.
The higher the position, the more exemplary one must be.
Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City is the only city named after beloved Uncle Ho and this honor has become a source of pride and great responsibility for the Party Committee, government and people of the city. Studying and following Uncle Ho has become a tradition of the entire city's political system; it has always been identified by the City Party Committee as one of the core, key and regular tasks.
Comrade Nguyen Ho Hai commented that the implementation of Conclusion 01 of the Politburo over the past two years has contributed to the fight against and prevention of degradation in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle among cadres and party members, especially leaders. Thereby, it has contributed to building a contingent of cadres with political courage, steadfastness, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility; devoted to the country and the people, promptly and effectively resolving urgent and outstanding issues of the people.
In addition, with many new and creative ways, localities and units have implemented the construction and formation of impressive Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space, creating a strong influence in the political system and people of the city, especially in religious establishments, contributing to spreading and deeply imbuing the great and great values in the ideology, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh.
To improve the quality and effectiveness of studying and following Uncle Ho, he requested to step up propaganda and education in the Party Committee and all people of the city about Uncle Ho's ideology and style; raise the sense of responsibility of cadres, party members and citizens in studying and following Uncle Ho, especially focusing on educating the younger generation, students and pupils.
Localities and units also need to promote Party building work and effectively implement the Central Committee's resolutions for Ho Chi Minh City. "Each level must innovate the content and methods of leadership, discuss and select key tasks, study and exploit the advantages of the city and the locality to successfully implement the local political tasks," emphasized comrade Nguyen Ho Hai.
Through this, it aims to create positive motivation to solve urgent and outstanding problems of the industry, locality, agency, and unit, contributing significantly to strengthening the trust of Party members and people of the city. One of the requirements that the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee mentioned is the responsibility to set an example for the heads of Party committees, authorities of agencies, and units.
At the same time, continue to promote the strength of national solidarity, build the city into a Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space, where his thoughts, ethics, style and career are always present, becoming the spiritual assets and cultural values of the people, cadres and party members of the city named after Uncle Ho.
At specific locations such as drug rehabilitation facilities and mental health care facilities, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City also has many ways to promote learning and following Uncle Ho as well as building a Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space. According to Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Vo Si, learning and following Uncle Ho is associated with the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space in drug rehabilitation facilities and mental health care facilities from the most practical actions, building an ethical lifestyle, a meaningful way of behaving, aiming at the goal of building and educating people, especially the young generation. That is to educate drug rehabilitation students with personality defects to become people with good qualities, knowing how to love, be creative, and be active in work and life. The Ho Chi Minh cultural space project was built within the premises of the units, not rigid, dry, or dogmatic. The space is like a miniature museum, displaying the most authentic, simple, and familiar documents and images about Uncle Ho, examples of good people and good deeds, and artifacts associated with Uncle Ho's life. The highlight is that the exhibits such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Nha Rong Wharf, Uncle Ho's Hometown House... are products made by the students themselves, thereby expressing the students' feelings for Uncle Ho.
