Quang Ninh : Preparing to put Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory in Viet Hung Industrial Park into operation

This is the first factory in Vietnam and Southeast Asia specializing in assembling and manufacturing cars, under the brand name Škoda Auto - the largest car brand in the Czech Republic.

After 2 years of construction, Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory in Viet Hung Industrial Park (Ha Long City) is now ready for trial operation from the end of this year to officially start production from the beginning of 2025. Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory has a capacity of 120,000 cars/year, built on an area of 36.5 hectares, located in Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industry Complex with a total area of 340 hectares, with a total investment capital of VND 8,679 billion.

According to the information announced by the Factory, the entire production and assembly line at the factory applies the most advanced and modern technologies of Škoda Auto, meeting European standards with a high level of automation. Accordingly, the factory's equipment line is provided by leading and experienced partners such as: Chropynska, Wipro Pari and Durr. This helps the factory's production and assembly process fully meet international quality standards, environmental protection standards and is ready to produce new car models in the future.

In the initial phase of operation, the factory will assemble SUV and B-class Sedan segments to suit the tastes and current consumption trends of Vietnamese people. According to the plan, the factory will launch the first two CKD car models (domestic assembled cars with 100% imported components) to the market, Kushaq and Slavia, in 2025. In the next phase, the factory will expand to environmentally friendly electric vehicles, approaching new green car manufacturing technology, in line with the world 's development trends.

Identifying the Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industry Complex as a key project, a driving force for the province's development in the coming years, contributing to increasing revenue for the local budget, creating jobs, etc., Quang Ninh province and departments, branches, and Ha Long city have paid special attention and support during the project implementation process. The selection and arrangement of the location for the Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory in Viet Hung Industrial Park clearly demonstrates the interest of Quang Ninh province in the orientation of forming a new automobile manufacturing center of the country. Because this is a convenient area for domestic and international trade.

During the implementation process, Quang Ninh province has directed specialized agencies to continue to support and remove difficulties in land resources for the investor to accelerate the implementation of Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industry Complex. The province has also implemented the project to renovate and expand Road 279 so that the factory can operate smoothly and safely. Leaders of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee have also directed sectors and localities to continue to accompany and promptly remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation of the project, from which the investor will implement the next steps such as investing in workers' housing, 110kV line from Hoanh Bo 220kV substation to Viet Hung Industrial Park and increasing the capacity of the 110kV transformer station of Viet Hung Industrial Park to 3x63MVA.

It can be seen that Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory and Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industrial Complex, when completed and put into operation, will be a supply chain connecting dozens of manufacturing factories, including automobile assembly, battery and engine production, supporting, ports and services... to make Quang Ninh one of the country's major automobile manufacturing centers in the future.

At the same time, the Factory will contribute to the development of the Vietnamese automobile industry; in line with the Government 's orientation in the new period of developing the automobile industry in line with the global value chain, assigning and cooperating to produce together, making the automobile industry an important industry of the country.
