Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory in Viet Hung Industrial Park, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province is in the final stages of completion to put into operation by the end of 2024.

Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory is the place to manufacture and assemble Skoda brand cars under the investment cooperation program of the leading Czech automobile company with Thanh Cong Group . The factory is located in Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industry Complex, with a capacity of 120,000 cars/year. This is the first automobile factory project in Quang Ninh.

Thanh Cong Viet Hung automobile and auxiliary industrial complex has a total area of ​​nearly 400 hectares, located in Viet Hung Industrial Park, Quang Ninh. The complex has areas such as automobile manufacturing and assembly factories with areas of 36.5 hectares and 31 hectares; port areas of 14.27 hectares, CKD warehouse of 26.08 hectares, finished vehicle warehouse of 29.39 hectares, R&D area of ​​18.7 hectares, battery and engine factory of 22 hectares, auxiliary area of ​​83 hectares, service area.

After more than 2 years of construction, the main items of the factory such as: welding, painting, assembly, electromechanical workshop systems and auxiliary works such as LPG station, compressed air station, test track, etc. have been basically completed. The quality control functional areas have completed test runs in early May 2024. For equipment items, construction has reached over 90% of the total volume and will be completed in early October.

To ensure progress as planned, during the installation process, the investor and contractors have carried out acceptance and trial operation of each item in parallel. With the current progress, the factory will conduct trial operation and produce the first batches of cars in the fourth quarter of 2024, supplying the market in 2025.

The factory has also imported the first batch of components, which are car tires, to serve the testing process of the welding workshop line at the factory. According to the plan, in the first phase of operation, it will assemble SUV and B-class Sedan segments. In the next phase, it will expand to environmentally friendly electric vehicles.

On September 14, Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee inspected the construction progress of Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory.

After listening to the report and recommendations from the investor and related departments and branches, the Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the proactive and positive spirit of the investor, who focused resources and human resources to ensure the progress of completing the factory according to plan.

The recent storm No. 3 caused severe damage to many constructions in Quang Ninh, however, the factory's infrastructure did not suffer any major damage, which shows that the quality of the construction is currently very good. The selection and arrangement of the factory's construction location clearly shows the province's interest in the orientation of forming a new automobile manufacturing center of the country. Because this is a very convenient area, easily connected to all transport infrastructures such as aviation, seaports, railways and especially the inter-regional expressway system.

To ensure the progress of the project, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province has directed the sectors and localities to continue to accompany and promptly remove difficulties and obstacles. In particular, Ha Long City is required to quickly complete the planning of subdivisions No. 6 and 13. On that basis, the investor will implement the next steps such as investing in workers' housing, 110kV transmission line from Hoanh Bo 220kV substation to the industrial park and increasing the capacity of the 110kV transformer station of Viet Hung industrial park to 3x63MVA. Upgrading Ha Long Pearl Hotel so that Thanh Cong Group can serve the need to attract high-quality human resources for the automobile complex and provide Ha Long tourism industry with high-quality resort hotel products.

Along with that, relevant departments and branches continue to support and remove difficulties in land resources so that investors can continue to promote the implementation of Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industry Complex; deploy the project to renovate and expand Road 279 so that the factory can operate smoothly and safely.

Quang Ninh will continue to accompany and promptly report to the Government and the Ministry of Planning and Investment so that the Complex can enjoy preferential policies such as High-Tech Parks or Economic Zones to create attractiveness and enhance competitiveness when the factory comes into operation.

The factory's operation will be a "lever" for Quang Ninh to attract and gather many businesses in the auto support industry, manufacturing components and spare parts, especially those with high technology content.
