Businesses focus on work attitude
This morning, November 4, Lac Hong University organized a job fair for students majoring in economics with the participation of nearly 40 businesses.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh, Vice Principal, said that businesses have offered nearly 1,000 job positions. In addition to jobs for graduating students (official employees), even students from first to fourth year can apply for 262 part-time jobs and 312 internship positions.
"This is an opportunity for students to learn about the labor market by listening, interacting and understanding more deeply the needs of employers, thereby orienting their future career path. At the job fair, students also fill out applications and participate in on-site interviews," said Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh.
Students chat with business representatives to learn about recruitment information.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Tien, recruitment specialist of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, said that every year, nationwide, the company needs to recruit about more than 3,000 sales, human resources, maintenance, IT, food technology staff... with university and college degrees, working in the fields of animal feed, livestock farms, food processing and distribution.
According to Mr. Tien, in addition to the criteria of professional knowledge, this company also focuses on the attitude of the candidates. "Those who have a good attitude, show seriousness, responsibility, and are always willing to listen and learn will be highly appreciated by us when recruiting."
It is known that the starting salary for new graduates that this company pays is from 8-12 million VND/month, when having 3-5 years of experience, the salary can be from 20-30 million VND/month depending on ability and job position.
Students fill out application form
Present at the job fair, Ms. Do Ngoc Thao Nguyen, Deputy Director of Operations of VMG Vietnam-USA English Center, also said that the center is looking to recruit about 100 teachers and English teaching assistants from preschool to university.
"We also recruit paid internship positions for undergraduate students. Candidates with a serious and disciplined work attitude will be highly appreciated. In terms of skills, young people who are good at using technology will have an advantage when recruiting and working," Ms. Thao Nguyen informed.
Signed contract immediately after internship
In particular, many businesses here have recruited students right after they finished their internship, meaning that students who have not yet received their diplomas have the opportunity to become official employees.
Mr. Phan Hoang Nam, Head of Business Support Department of Bao Viet Life Insurance Company Dong Nai, said that the company's recruitment source is mainly from student interns.
"Every year in Dong Nai, we receive about 10 interns and this is a very effective source of recruitment. For example, we have just retained 4 students from Lac Hong University to sign official contracts. Those who are retained often have good expertise, a serious working attitude, clear goals and are always ready to accept challenges," said Mr. Nam.
The job fair is an opportunity for students to exchange and learn about career trends and recruitment criteria.
As a student recruited by TM Grow International Joint Stock Company (operating in the field of chemicals and fertilizers) right after finishing her internship, Hoang Thi Tam (majoring in business administration), expressed: "I am very happy because during my internship, I got to work as an official sales employee and received a salary. Because I achieved enough KPIs and studied hard, I and another friend were recruited by the company."
Nguyen Hung Vuong (majoring in business administration) received a salary of 6 million VND/month during his internship at Bao Viet Life Insurance Company in Dong Nai. Now, he has signed an official contract before receiving his diploma.
"I think thanks to my good working attitude, always being enthusiastic and willing to learn, I was accepted by the company right after the internship," Hung Vuong shared.
