Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son welcomed US Ambassador Marc E. Knapper.

Attending the meeting were comrade Hoang Viet Phuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the Americas Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; leaders of a number of departments, branches, units, and the Provincial Business Association.

At the meeting, the two sides learned about the socio-economic development situation of Tuyen Quang province; information on economic-trade relations, education, people-to-people exchange and possible cooperation activities in 2025, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-US diplomatic relations; exchanged and explored opportunities to promote cooperation in areas that Tuyen Quang province is interested in and wishes to cooperate in.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, on behalf of the provincial leaders, welcomed the delegation to visit and work in Tuyen Quang. He outlined some basic features of the province's geographical location, history, culture, tourism advantages and socio-economic development situation. Accordingly, in international cooperation, Tuyen Quang has had close relationships with a number of partners from Japan, Korea, China, etc.

For the United States, nearly 30 years after Vietnam and the United States officially established diplomatic relations and established a Comprehensive Partnership, the Vietnam-US relationship continues to enter a new historical phase when on September 10, 2023, the two countries officially upgraded their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace, cooperation and sustainable development.

Tuyen Quang always appreciates the Ambassador for connecting and creating favorable conditions for Tuyen Quang in recent years. He hopes that the Ambassador will continue to share and help Tuyen Quang in all areas of social life, especially education.

Ambassador Marc E. Knapper affirmed that when he first came to Tuyen Quang, he was very impressed when he learned that this place has many beautiful natural landscapes, as well as historical relics related to the relationship between Vietnam and the United States. The two countries now not only look back at the past but also look forward to the future together. The Ambassador wishes to continue to be Vietnam's partner in realizing the goals of education and high technology. This requires not only cooperation between the central level but also cooperation with the local level.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to support the provision of English programs, language training and teaching methods. In addition, the province also wishes to introduce partners to connect economic investment in the province.

The US Embassy delegation visited and exchanged at Tuyen Quang High School for the Gifted.

Within the framework of the program, the delegation visited and interacted with teachers and students of Tuyen Quang High School for the Gifted; and visited the Tan Trao National Special Relic Site.
