In Quynh Luu district, the delegation of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman inspected the Lach Quen fishing port area. This is one of the 7 fishing ports of Nghe An included in the general planning of the whole country, to meet the needs of anchoring and fishing logistics services. After completing the upgrading, expansion and putting into use, Lach Quen fishing port (Quynh Thuan commune, Quynh Luu district) can meet the needs of anchoring and safe storm shelter for 500 - 700 boats of local fishermen.

According to the report of Quynh Luu district, up to now, the locality has prepared for and responded to storm No. 3 according to the motto of 4 on-site, 3 ready and the telegrams of the Prime Minister and the Provincial People's Committee. In coastal communes such as Quynh Long, cultural houses and schools have also been selected as places to receive people taking shelter from the storm according to scenarios of evacuating residential areas in case of rising sea levels.

Next, the delegation inspected Dien Thanh sluice in Dien Chau district. This is a project in the Northern irrigation system of Nghe An. After completing the upgrade and expansion, Dien Thanh sluice will drain and reduce flooding for 15,000 hectares of low-lying areas of Yen Thanh and Dien Chau districts during the rainy season; prevent salinity and retain fresh water during the dry season.

In this area, the border guards and local authorities are coordinating to mobilize owners to move anchored boats to ensure the flow of water in case the sluice gate is operating to drain water or prevent rising tides. Inspecting the scene, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized that the locality must pay attention to vulnerable locations, arrange regular forces to respond to emergency situations; and the highest priority is to ensure the safety of people's lives when the storm makes landfall as well as heavy rain after the storm's circulation.
