On April 11, Comrade Do Minh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the progress of the implementation of the Project "Arranging and stabilizing residents in areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous districts of the province in the period of 2021-2025" in Quan Hoa and Muong Lat districts.

Also participating were representatives of leaders of functional departments and branches; leaders and specialized departments of Quan Hoa and Muong Lat districts.

Tang Village has 81 households with nearly 400 people, of which 39 households previously lived in an area with a very high risk of landslides, and were resettled to a new place from the beginning of 2022. The resettlement area is located on a hilltop about 400 m from the old place, with favorable terrain, ensuring safety, and investment in traffic infrastructure, lighting, and water for daily life. After nearly 2 years of moving to the new place, households have stabilized their lives, are secure in their work, and no longer worry when the rainy and stormy season comes.

Next, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Minh Tuan and the working delegation visited households subject to mixed resettlement in Gia village, Phu Xuan commune.
It is known that Phu Xuan commune has 153 households living in areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides. Gia village alone has 36 households at high risk, of which 25 have been supported for resettlement in the form of intermingling in residential areas.
At the inspection points, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Minh Tuan visited the people's living conditions and production after arriving at their new place; encouraged them to quickly settle down and work enthusiastically to build an increasingly prosperous and happy life.
Through the inspection, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Minh Tuan acknowledged, highly appreciated and commended Quan Hoa district and related sectors and units for their active participation, efforts and responsibility in implementing Conclusion No. 590 dated September 8, 2021 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Decision No. 4845 dated December 1, 2021 of the Provincial People's Committee approving the Project "Arranging and stabilizing residents in areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous districts of the province in the period 2021-2025".
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated: The sooner the resettlement for households is implemented, the less risks for households will be, helping people have a safer and more stable life. Therefore, sectors and localities need to continue to make more efforts, overcome difficulties and obstacles, especially difficulties in resettlement land funds, and speed up resettlement for households currently living in areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides.
In Muong Lat district, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Minh Tuan and members of the delegation surveyed the area planned to build a concentrated resettlement area in Xa Lao village for 39 households of Ma Hac village, Trung Ly commune; a resettlement area for 20 households of Suoi Long village, Tam Chung commune and inspected the area at high risk of landslides in Suoi Long village, Tam Chung commune.

Through the actual inspection, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Minh Tuan shared the difficulties that Muong Lat district is facing, and noted that in the process of surveying and selecting the location of the concentrated resettlement area for households, the functional sector and Muong Lat district need to be extremely careful and thoughtful, especially to thoroughly survey the geology of the planned resettlement area. The requirement during the implementation process is to ensure absolute safety. Along with that, it is necessary to pay attention to the conditions to ensure convenience for the daily life and production of the people.
