On the morning of April 12, Comrade Do Minh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the progress of the implementation of the Project "Arranging and stabilizing residents in areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous districts of the province in the period of 2021-2025" in Ba Thuoc district.

The project to arrange and stabilize the population for households in Pon Thanh Cong village, Lung Cao commune was approved by the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province in Decision No. 710/QD-UBND, dated March 3, 2023 with a total investment of VND 2,923 million, and an area of about 0.656 ha. The invested items include: leveling, water supply system, rainwater drainage system, wastewater drainage system, and power supply system.
Project implementation period 2023 - 2025; arranging and arranging for 22 resettled households, including 14 poor households and 4 near-poor households. The distance from the old residence of the households to the resettlement area is from 700-1,300m. Currently, the investor is constructing items according to plan with an estimated volume of 60%.
The resettlement area in Pon Thanh Cong village, Lung Cao commune is speeding up construction progress.
It is known that, implementing the Project "Resettlement of residential areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous districts of the province in the period of 2021 - 2025", the whole district of Ba Thuoc has 289 households in areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides, and resettlement. Of which, the total number of interspersed resettlement households is 141, so far the number of households that have been relocated to new safe places is 33. The total number of adjacent resettlement households is 66, so far the number of households that have been relocated to new safe places is 2. The total number of concentrated resettlement households is 82.
Through the on-site inspection, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Minh Tuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the active participation of Ba Thuoc district and related sectors and units in implementing the tasks and requirements set out in the Project "Arranging and stabilizing residents in areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous districts of the province in the period of 2021-2025".
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated: In order for people in areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides to have a safe and stable life, resettlement arrangements for households are urgent requirements. Therefore, the functional sectors, related units and Ba Thuoc district need to continue to make more efforts, overcome all difficulties and obstacles to speed up the resettlement progress for households currently living in areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Minh Tuan noted that in the process of implementing assigned tasks, especially the selection of resettlement sites for households, it is necessary to be extremely careful and thoughtful in all stages, especially the survey and assessment of terrain and geology where resettlement sites are expected to be located. The requirement is to ensure absolute safety. Along with that, it is necessary to pay attention to conditions to ensure convenience for people's daily life and production.
