Speaking to Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping affirmed that Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong is a staunch Marxist and a great leader of the Party and people of Vietnam. Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong has devoted his whole life to the Party, State and people of Vietnam, leading the Party, State and people of Vietnam to promote and achieve great achievements in the cause of building socialism, receiving the support and love of the entire Party, army and people of Vietnam.
Comrade Xi Jinping affirmed that China always remembers the great contributions of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong in promoting the traditional friendship "both as comrades and brothers" between Vietnam and China. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China firmly supports the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam to unite and lead the Vietnamese people firmly on their development path. Ambassador Pham Sao Mai expressed his gratitude to General Secretary and President Xi Jinping for visiting General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and offering condolences to the Party, State and People of Vietnam; and thanked the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China for promptly sending a message of condolences to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, demonstrating the special respect of the Party, State and People of China and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping for the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries of Vietnam and China as well as the special affection of Comrade Xi Jinping for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. He stressed that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a great intellectual and great talent of the Vietnamese revolution, an ideologist, a culturalist, a theoretical flag bearer of the Communist Party of Vietnam, an excellent student who constantly studies and follows the ideology, morality and style of the great President Ho Chi Minh, who has devoted his whole life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people, living his whole life for the country and the people; The passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a great loss and infinite sorrow for the Party, State and people of Vietnam. During his lifetime, Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong devoted much love and enthusiasm and made many important contributions to the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries of Vietnam and China. Under the care and direct guidance of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary Xi Jinping, the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries over the past 10 years has made remarkable progress, becoming a Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, receiving the support of the people of the two countries. Affirming that the Party, State and People of Vietnam always consider developing relations with the Party, State and People of China as a top priority and a strategic choice, expressing that they will continue to work with the Chinese side to thoroughly implement the common perception of the two General Secretaries, and are ready to work with the Party, State and People of China to continue to develop the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a healthy, stable and sustainable manner in the direction of "6 more", and together build a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.
On the same day, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council of China, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning, and members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, and Li Xi sent wreaths.
