Receiving the President of the Communist Party of Bangladesh, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that the visit coincided with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries; he expressed his hope that this visit would contribute to consolidating and increasing friendly relations and promoting cooperation in all fields, including political channels and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue affirmed that over the past half century, Vietnam has always been grateful for the valuable support and assistance that the Communist Party and the people of Bangladesh have given Vietnam in the past resistance war for national independence, as well as in the current national construction and development, including the contributions of comrades in the Communist Party of Bangladesh who sacrificed their lives in 1973 while participating in protests against the Vietnam War. On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue respectfully sent the greetings of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the Party Chairman and the leadership of the Communist Party of Bangladesh.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue also informed about some key features of Vietnam's recent situation and the major policies of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the coming time; affirmed that to achieve the set goals, in addition to Vietnam's efforts, it also needs support and solidarity from international friends, including Bangladesh and Bangladeshi political parties.
Affirming that the Communist Party of Vietnam always attaches importance to the traditional good friendship with the Communist Party of Bangladesh, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue wished the Communist Party of Bangladesh to successfully carry out its set goals and tasks, continue to promote its pioneering role in the communist and leftist movements in Bangladesh, and contribute to building a peaceful, democratic, developed and prosperous Bangladesh.

President of the Communist Party of Bangladesh Shah Alam expressed his admiration for President Ho Chi Minh and the country and people of Vietnam in their struggles for national independence as well as in the process of national construction and development; and expressed his joy that Vietnam is steadily moving forward on the path to socialism. Based on the relationship between the two Parties, the President of the Communist Party of Bangladesh hopes that Vietnam can soon become a development partner of Bangladesh.
At the meeting, the two leaders agreed that it is necessary to strengthen friendly cooperation in the coming time, continue to promote the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries; further promote investment and trade between the two countries. In particular, the two sides should soon open direct flights to facilitate exchanges between the two sides. Chairman of the Communist Party of Bangladesh Shah Alam hopes that more and more Vietnamese enterprises will come to Bangladesh to invest and do business in the spirit of mutual benefit.
The two leaders also expressed their views that the two countries will continue to support each other's views and positions at multilateral and international forums, including upholding the spirit of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, ensuring security, safety, and freedom of navigation in the East Sea, and resolving disputes by peaceful means.

Workers' Party Chairman Rashed Khan Menon thanked National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue for taking the time to meet him during his first visit to Bangladesh; emphasizing that Bangladesh and Vietnam have been close friends for many years, sharing many common values of peace, cooperation and development in the world.
Party Chairman Rashed Khan Menon said that during his student years, he and the people of Bangladesh took to the streets to support Vietnam's national liberation struggle. With the slogan "your name, my name, our name: Vietnam, Vietnam", at that time, he and his friends always identified the struggle of the Vietnamese people as their own struggle. Over the past 50 years since the official establishment of diplomatic relations, the Chairman of the Bangladesh Workers' Party affirmed that the Vietnam-Bangladesh relationship has developed in all areas, in which trade and investment relations in recent years have achieved many positive results; thanked and appreciated Vietnam for providing rice to Bangladesh.
With still a lot of room, the two countries' economies are highly complementary, the Chairman of the Bangladesh Workers' Party believes that the two sides can absolutely strengthen closer cooperation for the benefit of both countries and their peoples; hopes that the two sides will increase delegation exchanges, especially youth and women...
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue thanked Workers' Party Chairman Rashed Khan Menon for his good feelings and support for Vietnam; and thanked the Workers' Party and other political parties of Bangladesh for always supporting and sharing the same views on strengthening relations with Vietnam, which is an important foundation for the two countries' relations to develop further.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue congratulated the Bangladesh Workers' Party on continuing to make positive contributions to Bangladesh's political life, playing a core role in the left-wing forces in Bangladesh, making efforts to strengthen solidarity in mass organizations and rally working people in Bangladesh as well as promoting cooperation with left-wing and workers' parties around the world.

Affirming that the Party and State of Vietnam always attach importance to and wish to strengthen the traditional friendship with Bangladesh in all channels and fields, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue hoped that the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Bangladesh Workers' Party would increase the exchange of experience, theory and practice in Party building, national construction and development in the current context; agreed to strengthen cooperation and delegation exchanges between the two countries' youth because the youth are the future of the country and play a pivotal role in the bilateral relationship in the coming time.
Regarding economic cooperation, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue agreed that this is an area that needs to be promoted in the coming time and said that on the afternoon of September 22, in the capital Dhaka, the two countries will organize a forum on policies and laws on trade and investment with the participation of about 150 businesses, investors and leaders of relevant ministries and branches.
On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue invited the Chairman of the Bangladesh Workers' Party to visit soon and witness firsthand the achievements of Vietnam's socio-economic development after more than 35 years of implementing the Doi Moi and deep international integration.
