Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Manh Cuong, staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangladesh warmly welcomed the delegation.
Vietnam and Bangladesh established diplomatic relations on February 11, 1973. The traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries have continuously developed, and political relations have been strengthened.
The visit of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue took place in the context that after 5 years since the visit to Bangladesh by the President (2018) and 6 years since the visit of the Speaker of the Bangladeshi Parliament to Vietnam (2017), the two countries have not exchanged high-ranking delegations. It is expected that during the visit, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue will, on behalf of our country's high-ranking leaders, join Bangladeshi high-ranking leaders to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1973-2023).

During the visit, there will be talks and meetings between National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and senior leaders of Bangladesh. On behalf of the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, the National Assembly Chairman will discuss measures to consolidate, promote and expand the friendship and effective and substantive cooperation between the two countries through the Party, National Assembly, Government and people-to-people exchanges.
During the visit, the National Assembly Chairman will attend a number of cultural, economic and foreign affairs activities and meet with the Vietnamese community in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is currently Vietnam's second largest trading partner in South Asia. Two-way trade has increased four times in 10 years, from 350 million USD in 2012 to approximately 1.5 billion USD in 2022, exceeding the target set in 2017 and aiming for 2 billion USD. Bangladesh is a potential market with nearly 170 million people, has large consumption power and has many similarities with Vietnam. Bangladesh currently has 18 investment projects in Vietnam...
The two countries have close exchanges and cooperation at international forums, especially at the United Nations. Both Vietnam and Bangladesh were elected to the Human Rights Council for the 2023-2025 term.
