Speaking at the festival, President Vo Van Thuong affirmed that Vietnam has a long-standing civilization, a heroic history and a culture rich in identity, unified in diversity. Over thousands of years of building and defending the country, 54 ethnic groups have created a unique and rich cultural treasure with good values that vividly demonstrate the process of living, working, building and protecting the country, depicting the character and beauty of the Vietnamese people. This is truly a source of pride, a valuable asset of the nation, a source of endogenous strength, fostering the great national unity bloc, and an attractive force to international friends, a soft power that contributes to raising the country's position and prestige in the international arena.
According to the President, over the past years, all levels, sectors, localities and ethnic people have made efforts to preserve, restore, spread and honor cultural values; build new cultural spaces, create an environment for ethnic groups to create, interact, learn and work together, and encourage understanding and respect for each other's cultures.
President Vo Van Thuong also expressed his joy that in recent years, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, there have been many effective and unique activities with hundreds of festivals and events held, highlighting the beauty of Vietnamese culture, attracting domestic and foreign tourists to visit, experience culture, and community tourism, affirming the everlasting vitality of traditional cultural values of the nation in development, exchange, integration and international cooperation.
President Vo Van Thuong highly appreciated and commended the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, localities, and ethnic people for their many initiatives and efforts to maintain and develop the activities of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, joining hands to build the "Common Home of 54 Ethnic Groups" - a place to gather and unite ethnic groups, a place to preserve, spread, and promote the traditional cultural values of our beloved Vietnam.
President Vo Van Thuong affirmed that our Party and State always pay attention to building the great national unity bloc - an important factor, a strong driving force, of key significance to the country's development - on the basis of well implementing ethnic policies, consistently following the principle of equality, solidarity, respect, and mutual assistance among ethnic groups for comprehensive development in all aspects of politics, economy, culture, society, national defense and security; in which, attention is paid to preserving and promoting the values and cultural identities of each ethnic group, each member of the great family of Vietnamese ethnic groups.

The President also emphasized that culture is the spiritual foundation of society, a pillar in sustainable development, increasingly affirming its great role and achieving many important results. The material and spiritual cultural life of the people is constantly improving and enhancing. The role of the people in creating, practicing, transmitting and enjoying culture is increasingly valued, and the participation of the community in the cultural field is increasingly widespread.
For culture to truly be an endogenous resource, a strong driving force for the country to develop sustainably, leading to prosperity and happiness, we must continue to preserve and foster good cultural values, bring culture deeply into social life, consolidate and create a healthy and progressive spiritual foundation, contributing to building a modern and unique Vietnamese person, President Vo Van Thuong emphasized.
On that basis, the President requested all levels, sectors and localities to well implement ethnic policies, pay attention to preserving and promoting the cultural values of their localities in association with economic development and solving social problems, especially paying attention to comprehensive development, focusing on developing the culture of ethnic minorities, remote areas, border areas and islands. Promote the role of the People, communities, ethnic groups, village elders, village chiefs, the elderly, artists and folk artisans who are cultural subjects, those who directly participate in the process of creating, performing, preserving and transmitting the good cultural values of the nation. Create conditions for organizing activities to exploit and promote cultural values right in the heart of the community - where culture is born, nurtured and developed.
The vitality of traditional cultural values is also opening up prospects for the development of cultural and tourism industries. The richness and abundance of cultural resources increases opportunities for economic development, creating prosperity for each country and ethnic group, and is also a subtle way to touch the hearts of tourists and friends around the world. Emphasizing this, the President hopes that in the coming time, there will continue to be many initiatives and creative ways to join hands in building a space for cultural exchange among Vietnamese ethnic groups, respecting and protecting the diverse expressions of culture, of people, ethnic groups and regions.
The President believes that a joyful, harmonious and connected space created by diverse cultural communities is a solid premise to promote exchange and understanding, harmony and mutual respect among ethnic groups, creating cohesion, fostering the great national unity bloc, contributing to cultivating Vietnamese culture, Vietnamese strength, Vietnamese values - a strong endogenous resource for national development.
