On January 1, President Vo Van Thuong attended the closing ceremony of the program to mobilize and support the construction of 1,200 houses for the poor and those with housing difficulties in Soc Trang province. The ceremony took place in Thanh Phu commune, My Xuyen district (Soc Trang), organized by the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Lam Van Man, Secretary of Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee, said that with the spirit of humanity and joining hands to help the poor have stable housing, the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province, mobilized and supported funding to build 1,200 houses for households. Thereby, contributing to helping people feel secure in working, producing, improving their lives, and building a solid "people's security posture".
The Ministry of Public Security mobilized more than 60 billion VND from businesses and sponsors, each house costing 50 million VND. In addition, it mobilized resources in the form of labor days from families, relatives, communities, armed forces, union members, youth volunteers, and volunteers to support the transportation of raw materials for house construction in areas with difficult travel conditions.

To date, 1,200 houses have been completed and handed over to households. On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province, Mr. Lam Van Man expressed his gratitude to the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security; and at the same time thanked the solidarity and support of benefactors and sponsors.
The Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee affirmed that the implementation of the Project to support the construction of 1,200 houses for poor households and households with housing difficulties was carried out by the province to ensure the right subjects, quality and progress, with a detailed plan and roadmap, achieving high efficiency, saving, avoiding waste and negativity.
Congratulating the households receiving housing support, the Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee hopes that with the new house, people will feel secure in working, producing, improving their lives, and contributing to the cause of protecting security and order at the grassroots level.

In recognition of the contributions of collectives and individuals in implementing the Project to build 1,200 houses, the Ministry of Public Security decided to award certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 27 individuals; the People's Committee of Soc Trang province awarded certificates of merit to 36 collectives and 49 individuals.
On the same morning, President Vo Van Thuong and his delegation visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Le Thi Thanh (residing in Chau Thanh Hamlet, My Xuyen Town, My Xuyen District, Soc Trang).
