(CLO) On the afternoon of October 21, Mr. Orlando Hernández Guillén - Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam, as Head of the Delegation, paid a courtesy visit to the Vietnam Journalists Association. The event was an opportunity to bid farewell to Mr. Orlando Hernández Guillén, who is about to complete his term as Head of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam.
Welcoming the Cuban Ambassador was Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
Expressing his honor at the visit and work of the Cuban Ambassador, Mr. Le Quoc Minh said that he and Ambassador Orlando Hernández Guillén had many opportunities to meet, talk, and exchange at many events with different contents.

Mr. Le Quoc Minh said that last year, at the invitation of the leadership of Granma Newspaper, the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of Cuba, a delegation of Nhan Dan Newspaper visited and worked in Cuba. According to Mr. Minh, despite facing resource constraints due to the impacts of the embargo, the leadership, reporters and employees of Granma Newspaper have continuously strived to promote their tradition of being the leading flag in information work and guiding public opinion.

President Le Quoc Minh mentioned the visit in September this year, the delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association led by journalist Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association visited and worked with the Cuban Journalists Association. Through that, the two sides exchanged and shared professional activities and experiences in applying technology, especially artificial intelligence in journalism activities, ways to improve revenue sources, foreign information activities, and ways to fight fake news and inaccurate news.
Mr. Le Quoc Minh said that during the visits and working trips abroad, specifically to Cuba, in addition to the delegates of the Vietnam Journalists Association, leaders of central and local press agencies were also very excited to attend.
Chairman Le Quoc Minh said that recently, Vietnamese press agencies in general and Nhan Dan newspaper in particular have had many news articles promoting Cuba, the good friendship between the two countries as well as important tasks to further promote economic and social development.
"I believe that, with the traditional friendship, the relationship between the Vietnam and Cuba Journalists Associations, between Nhan Dan Newspaper and Granma Newspaper will always be strong and steadfast," Mr. Le Quoc Minh expressed.
Thanking Mr. Le Quoc Minh and the delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association for their warm welcome, Mr. Orlando Hernández Guillén said that today's meeting was for him to say goodbye to Vietnam as well as express his deep gratitude to the Vietnam Journalists Association in general and Mr. Le Quoc Minh in particular for their great help and support during his 4 years working in Vietnam.

According to Orlando Hernández Guillén, under the leadership of Le Quoc Minh, the Vietnam Journalists Association, Nhan Dan newspaper has published a lot of information and propaganda about the strong friendship between the two countries. "This is very important in educating the younger generation about the history and sacred relationship that President Ho Chi Minh and Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro laid the foundation for," Orlando Hernández Guillén emphasized.
The Cuban Ambassador appreciated Nhan Dan newspaper for regularly updating information and propaganda about the economic and social situation of Cuba. According to the Ambassador, 2025 will mark the 65th anniversary of the founding of Granma newspaper, and he hopes that President Le Quoc Minh and delegates of the Vietnam Journalists Association and Nhan Dan newspaper will come to Cuba to attend and share the joy with Granma newspaper.

The Cuban Ambassador added that his successor as Ambassador in the coming time is a journalist, so in the future, the two sides will have more opportunities to discuss hot topics of the press, thereby contributing to strengthening the relationship between the two countries, as well as solving existing problems towards sustainable development in many other fields.
Mr. Orlando Hernández Guillén expressed his wish to continue receiving support and assistance from the Vietnam Journalists Association and Vietnamese press agencies in the coming time.
