Within the framework of his official visit to Chile, on the afternoon of November 10 local time (early morning of November 11 Hanoi time), in the capital Santiago de Chile, President Luong Cuong received Chairman of the Communist Party of Chile Lautaro Carmona Soto.

At the reception, the President expressed his joy at his first official visit to the beautiful and hospitable country of Chile. On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Vietnamese people thanked the people and the Communist Party of Vietnam. Chile and the left-wing, progressive, peace-loving forces who have enthusiastically supported and united with the Vietnamese people in the struggle for national independence and reunification in the past, as well as in the cause of national construction and development under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam today; thank the Party Chairman for actively participating in anti-war activities in the 1970s, supporting the Vietnamese people and making many positive contributions to the relationship between the two Parties and peoples of the two countries.
On this occasion, the President conveyed the regards and invitation to visit Vietnam at an appropriate time from General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam to Chairman of the Communist Party of Chile Lautaro Carmona Soto.
The President highly appreciated and believed that the Communist Party of Chile, as a political party, would make many positive contributions to the governance results of the left-wing government in Chile, promote an active foreign policy, expand foreign relations and connect with other countries and regions in the world, and contribute to solving common challenges and international issues.

Sharing some major features of the situation of the country and the Communist Party of Vietnam, the President said that the starting point was that the country was heavily devastated by war; the current world context has many complicated developments, but after nearly 40 years of renovation, Vietnam has achieved great and historic achievements. Currently, Vietnam's economy ranks 35th in the top 40 economies and is among the 20 countries with the fastest economic growth in the world. Vietnam persistently pursues a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversification and multilateralization; proactively and actively integrates, is a friend, a reliable partner and an active and responsible member of the international community.
The President emphasized that the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam has set a goal of becoming a developing country with modern industry and high average income by 2030, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding, and by 2045, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the country's founding, to become a developed country with high income. To achieve the above results, in addition to its own efforts, Vietnam needs the support and companionship of international friends, including Chile.
Currently, Chile is one of Vietnam's leading export markets in Latin America, and Vietnam is Chile's largest trading partner in ASEAN. The Communist Party of Vietnam values and wishes to further develop cooperative relations with ruling and participating political parties and parties with traditional relations, including the Communist Party of Chile, for the benefit of the people of each country, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
The President stressed that in the context of many complexities in the world, Vietnam remains steadfast on the path of national independence and socialism. There are many solutions to achieve that goal. Therefore, the two Communist Parties of the two countries need to actively exchange development experiences suitable for each country.
For his part, President of the Communist Party of Chile Lautaro Carmona Soto expressed his honor to be received by the President and said that the delegates attending the reception, although from different generations, all had one thing in common: their love for the country and people of Vietnam; many of them had participated in the peace march protesting the war in Vietnam in the past.
Party Chairman Lautaro Carmona Soto affirmed that Vietnam has always been a model for the whole world, including Chile. The Communist Party of Chile has learned from Vietnam's experience in the struggle for national liberation, identifying the revolutionary cause as belonging to the entire people; to develop the country, the participation of everyone in society is needed. Currently, although there are many difficulties and challenges for the parties in the ruling coalition, including the Communist Party of Chile. Therefore, the Communist Party of Chile also promotes the improvement of its fighting capacity; is interested in learning the Vietnamese model, especially solutions suitable to Chile's reality.
Party Chairman Lautaro Carmona Soto said that for Chile, regardless of party, they support the cooperative relationship in all fields between the two countries because Vietnam is a wonderful country, led by the Communist Party, always demonstrating a foreign policy of peace and cooperation, for the benefit of the people of the two countries.
