The owner of Restaurant 97 bis Suong Nguyet Anh (District 1, HCMC) admitted to allowing female attendants to sell sex for 12 million VND/person/night.

On the evening of November 5, the Criminal Police Department (PC02), Ho Chi Minh City Police, announced that the unit had prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Thi Cam Nguyen, Nguyen Van Ngon, Le Huu Nhan, and Pham Duy Khanh for the act of "Prostitution Brokerage".

Previously, detectives discovered that Restaurant 97, No. 97 bis Suong Nguyet Anh, owned and directly operated by Nguyen (also known as Nhi), had signs of prostitution. Nguyen also owned several restaurants in District 1 and District 5 and operated karaoke without a license.

Through investigation, the police determined that Restaurant 97 has been operating since 2018 and is considered the most VIP establishment in the restaurant chain owned by Nguyen.

Nguyen allowed the restaurant's female attendants to sell sex, frequently changing their methods of operation and finding ways to deal with the police. Accordingly, Nguyen directly instructed his subordinates to use slang such as "eating rice, eating porridge" to imply that female attendants were allowed to sell sex. The establishment was equipped with an alarm system and always had 3-5 security guards at the gate to monitor the situation and notify when they detected inspections. In addition, Nguyen also colluded with many managers to entice hundreds of female attendants to work in his chain of restaurants.

PC02 coordinated with District 1 Police to inspect Restaurant 97, discovered and seized many documents and evidence related to Nguyen's organization of female attendants to sell sex at hotels.

At the time of inspection, the restaurant had 15 rooms operating karaoke without a license, with about 60 female attendants.

At the police station, the subjects confessed that after eating and singing karaoke at Restaurant 97, the customers were brokered prostitution with 4 waitresses by Ngon (Tuan), the manager, at a price of 12 million VND/person/night.

From prostitution brokerage, Nguyen's restaurant system attracts thousands of customers every month to eat, drink, have fun and illegally profit tens of billions of dong.

Currently, the police are expanding the investigation, searching and clarifying the subjects involved in the case.
