The Danish player has been out of action for more than a month, with the injury sustained in the match against Luton on November 11.

Eriksen has just trained with his team-mates at Carrington and could appear on the bench for the trip to West Ham this weekend.

This is good news for coach Ten Hag to have more options in the midfield. In the recent match against Liverpool, for the first time he arranged the trio Amrabat-Mainoo-McTominay to play together.

Although he is 31 years old and his physical strength is no longer enough to play the full 90 minutes, every time he is on the field, Eriksen still proves his class in his ability to distribute and pass the ball.

The injury storm at Old Trafford has also gradually subsided, because in addition to Eriksen, Harry Maguire (groin injury), Mason Mount (calf) and Malacia (knee) are about to return.

South American duo Lisandro Martinez (leg injury) and Casemiro (hamstring injury) will recover in early 2024.

The Dutch coach hopes that the return of key players, combined with the recent courageous draw at Anfield, will bring a turning point in the second half of MU's season.

Recently, the Red Devils have been playing inconsistently, were eliminated from the League Cup as well as the Champions League and are currently ranked 7th in the Premier League table.
