Accordingly, the Vietnamese team will compete with the Russian team on September 5 and clash with Thailand on September 10. Interspersed between these two matches is the competition between the Russian and Thai teams on September 7.
These are two opponents ranked above the Vietnamese team on the FIFA rankings. The Russian team is ranked 33rd in the world, while Thailand is ranked 101st. Meanwhile, the position of the "Golden Star Warriors" is 115th.
Over the past two years, the Russian team has not participated in official UEFA and FIFA tournaments, but they have maintained high performance through friendly matches. Recently, the Russian team won with the same score of 4-0 against Serbia and Belarus.
The Russian national team is expected to have impressive names such as striker Artem Dzyuba, who is playing for Lokomotiv Moscow, midfielder Aleksandr Golovin, who is playing for Monaco, midfielder Arsen Zakharyan of Real Sociedad, and striker Fedor Smolov, who used to play for Krasnodar, Celta Vigo, and currently Dynamo Moscow.

Meanwhile, the Thai team is very familiar to Vietnamese fans and is considered a traditional rival of the Vietnamese team. Recently, the Thai team has been playing very well, continuously accumulating points and surpassing the Vietnamese team to rise to the top of the Southeast Asian region on the FIFA rankings.
Currently, the Thai team is led by Japanese coach Masatada Ishii. The Thai team's squad has many prominent names such as Chanathip Songkrasin, Teerasil Dangda, Supachok Sarachat, Suphanat Mueanta, Sarach Yooyen, Supachai Chaided, Theerathon Bunmathan...
They promise to be a strong "test" for the Vietnamese team. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for coach Kim Sang Sik and his team to test their strength and prepare best for the 2024 Southeast Asian tournament.
