Ms. Hanh (Dong Da district) said that today she had time to go to the market. The prices of fruits on the five-fruit tray this year are "softer" than every year. Many types are only half the price of last year.
"This year, buying things is much easier," said Ms. Hanh. She said that this year she went to the market early to buy offerings. "I only spent nearly 300,000 VND to buy enough flowers of all kinds to display on the offering tray. Last year, I spent nearly 500,000 VND and bought less."
Green bananas are the item with the most fluctuating prices. Small bunches of bananas with an even number of bananas cost between 40,000 and 60,000 VND. Bunches of green bananas with 15 to 21 bananas cost much higher than usual. Bunches with large bananas are priced at nearly 300,000 VND.
