Official announcement of the implementation of the North Hanoi Smart City

On the morning of November 11, 2023 in Dong Anh district, Hanoi, North Hanoi Smart City Development Investment Joint Stock Company (NHSC) - a joint venture between BRG Group (Vietnam) and Sumitomo Group (Japan) - officially announced the implementation of North Hanoi Smart City, a project symbolizing the friendship between Vietnam and Japan on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1973-2023).

Speaking at the event, Mr. Honda Yukihito, Global Senior Executive Officer of Sumitomo Corporation, said: “The North Hanoi Smart City project is positioned as a very important project for Sumitomo Corporation and together with our strategic partner, BRG Group, we hope to realize a world-class urban center leading the way for the new era of the ASEAN region. 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, our joint venture is committed to working together to quickly realize the dream of an urban area with a community of residents living in harmony in a modern space filled with green, with many amenities, applying the most modern technologies, a place where people and businesses can together create values ​​for themselves and society, becoming a sustainable symbol of the Vietnam-Japan friendship in the year of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations - Japan the next 50 years.”

The launching ceremony of the North Hanoi Smart City is an activity symbolizing the close friendship between the two countries and peoples of Vietnam and Japan; at the same time, it opens a new phase in the implementation and construction of smart cities according to the Resolutions of the Politburo No. 52-NQ/TW dated September 27, 2019 and Resolution No. 06-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2022 with the general goal of accelerating the speed and improving the quality of urbanization, developing sustainable urban areas according to the network, forming a number of urban areas, smart dynamic urban chains connecting with the region and the world. Specifically, by 2045, Vietnam is expected to build at least 5 urban areas of international stature, playing the role of a hub for connection and development with regional and international networks.

Located at the center of the planning of both sides of Nhat Tan - Noi Bai route, the gateway connecting the world with Vietnam, the North Hanoi Smart City implemented by the North Hanoi Smart City Development Investment Joint Stock Company has a total expected investment of nearly 4.2 billion USD on a total area of ​​nearly 272 hectares in Hai Boi, Vinh Ngoc and Kim No communes, Dong Anh district.

The North Hanoi Smart City will apply the quintessence of the 4.0 industrial revolution in the world, aiming for a sustainable city model thanks to green living and the application of modern technology, where people will not only be customers using services but will join hands to build a sustainable community as owners of the city.

At the event announcing the implementation of the North Hanoi Smart City, the North Hanoi Smart City Company donated 1 billion VND to build 20 solidarity houses in Dong Anh district. Previously, at the groundbreaking ceremony and announcement of the North Hanoi Smart City project held in October 2019, NHSC Company also donated 500 million VND to the Dong Anh District "For the Poor" Fund and 500 million VND to the Hanoi Children's Support Fund.
