Ta Chi Nhu peak is 2,979m high, located deep in Pu Luong block, Hoang Lien Son mountain range, Tram Tau district. The season of chi pau flowers on Ta Chi Nhu peak always attracts backpackers, tourists, and mountain climbers to admire from early September to October.

Ta Chi Nhu is located in Xa Ho commune, Tram Tau district and ranks 7th in the top 10 highest mountains in Vietnam - one of the ideal cloud hunting locations, also known as "Cloud Paradise on Earth". The end of September is also the best time for trekking and cloud hunting on the top of Ta Chi Nhu.

From September 29 to October 1, the first "Steps on the Clouds" Mountain Climbing Competition will take place, organized by Vietnam Law Newspaper in coordination with Tram Tau District People's Committee and Hung Viet Trade & Tourism Company Limited.

The mountain climbing competition gathered about 100 athletes who are journalists and reporters working at news agencies and newspapers across the country.

Participating in the “Steps on the Clouds” Mountain Climbing Race, athletes will have to overcome a distance of about 10km of mountainous roads. The starting point is at the foot of the mountain in Sang Pao village, Xa Ho commune and the finish point is Ta Chi Nhu peak at an altitude of 2,979m above sea level.

The highlight of the mountain climbing route is that athletes will pass through majestic natural landscapes at different altitudes, from primeval forests, low-canopy forests, grasslands, to purple chi pau flower fields...

This mountain climbing competition is considered a premise for Yen Bai province to develop another adventure tourism product besides the annual paragliding competition .
