Based on the developments in world oil prices last week, many opinions say that domestic oil prices at this afternoon's adjustment session may be adjusted upward.

Accordingly, if the management agency does not affect the price stabilization fund, domestic gasoline prices may increase by 320 - 500 VND/liter, and diesel prices may increase by about 250 - 300 VND/liter.

In case the governing body spends the fund, the price of gasoline may increase less or remain the same.

Meanwhile, the gasoline price forecast model of the Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI) said that in the operating period on November 28, the retail price of E5 RON92 gasoline is forecast to increase by VND332, equivalent to 1.7%, to VND19,672/liter, while RON95 gasoline may increase by VND263, equivalent to 1.3%, to VND20,783/liter.

VPI's model also forecasts that retail oil prices this period will increase by 0.2 - 1.3%, of which diesel prices may increase by 1.3% to VND18,736/liter, kerosene prices may increase by 0.8% to VND18,077/liter, and fuel oil may increase by 0.2% to VND16,041/kg.

VPI believes that the joint Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade will continue not to set aside or use the gasoline price stabilization fund this time.

In the most recent adjustment period (November 14), the prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted down by the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance. Specifically, the price of E5 gasoline decreased by 109 VND/liter, not higher than 19,343 VND/liter. The price of RON95 gasoline decreased by 79 VND/liter, not higher than 20,528 VND/liter.

Diesel price decreased by 64 VND/liter, down to 18,509 VND/liter. Kerosene price decreased by 67 VND/liter, down to 18,921 VND/liter. Fuel oil price increased by 5 VND/kg, not higher than 16,014 VND/kg.

On the world market at 6:00 a.m. on November 28, WTI oil price was at 68.77 USD/barrel, down 0.01%, equivalent to a decrease of 0.01 USD/barrel. Brent oil price was at 72.93 USD/barrel, up 0.16%, equivalent to an increase of 0.12 USD/barrel.

Oil prices were little changed on Tuesday, weighed down by a surprise build in U.S. gasoline inventories and concerns about U.S. interest rate cuts next year. But they were supported by easing supply concerns following a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

U.S. gasoline inventories rose 3.3 million barrels in the week to 212.2 million barrels, the Energy Information Administration said, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 46,000-barrel drop.
