The working delegation was led by Colonel Le Hong Chien, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4.
“Sakai City and Vietnam have a long history of trade. Merchants from Sakai City have also come to Hoi An, Vietnam to live. On the other hand, since the Vietnamese Consulate General moved to Sakai in 2009, with the contribution of generations of consuls general and friendship associations, the relationship of exchange and mutual understanding in the fields of economy, culture and education between Sakai City and Vietnam has been strengthened more than ever. In the future, as Mayor of Sakai City, I hope to further strengthen the relationship between Vietnam and Japan to new heights,” Mr. Takeyama Osami emphasized.

On the same afternoon, the Vietnamese Navy delegation visited the Vietnamese Consulate General in Sakai; paid a courtesy call to the Mayor of Sakai and the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Sakai City; and visited the ancient capitals of Kyoto and Nara.
At the places he visited for courtesy visits, Colonel Le Hong Chien thanked the authorities of Sakai city for welcoming the ship with a solemn and intimate ceremony; creating many favorable conditions for the Vietnamese Navy delegation to fully experience Sakai city with its rich history, fine cultural traditions, and hospitality.
On October 6, ship 015 will end its visit to Japan and continue its journey to South Korea to attend an international naval parade.
