" We will call Intan Sarah and ask for a clear explanation. As a female player of the Malaysian national team, Sarah should not have made statements on social media.
The FA of Malaysia will look into Sarah's post. We always remind our players about their behaviour on social media ," FAM Secretary General Datuk Noor Azman Rahman said.
A few days ago, female player Intan Sarah Anisah Zulgafli was heavily criticized by Malaysian fans for a social media post. For unknown reasons, she criticized the tactics of the Malaysian team's head coach, Mr. Kim Pan-gon.

Sarah believes that coach Kim Pan-gon's substitution decisions in the match between Malaysia and South Korea were incorrect. The post appeared during the match, right at the moment striker Morales came on for Brendan Gan. Intan Sarah wanted to see Safawi Rashid come on instead of Morales.
However, it was Morales who had a beautiful long-range shot to equalize 3-3 for the Malaysian team in the 15th minute of injury time of the second half. Therefore, Malaysian fans immediately criticized this female player. They were annoyed with the way Intan Sarah commented as if she was "giving orders" to the head coach of the men's team.
Immediately after realizing her mistake, Intan had to delete the old post. She posted a photo with coach Kim Pan-gon with an apology: " The heat of the match and personal emotions made me make a mistake when posting the article during the match. I apologize for what I wrote. I admit my mistake, I always respect coach Kim Pan-gon and the players ."
The Malaysian team ended the 2023 Asian Cup with 1 point in a draw with South Korea. This was the big surprise of this year's tournament. Previously, coach Kim Pan-gon and his team lost their first two matches and were eliminated from the 2023 Asian Cup early.
