Ha Tinh is one of six provinces implementing Decree No. 107/2022/ND-CP dated December 28, 2022 on piloting the transfer of emission reduction results and financial management of greenhouse gas emission reduction payment agreements in the North Central region (ERPA Agreement).
Pursuant to Decree 107/ND-CP, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province issued Decision No. 178/QD-UBND dated January 16, 2024 on approving the overall financial plan from ERPA sources (phase 1) of Ha Tinh province and Decision No. 302/QD-UBND dated January 26, 2024 on approving the 2023 financial plan for revenue from the North Central Region Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Payment Agreement (ERPA).
Accordingly, Ha Tinh will receive 1,776,939 USD (more than 122 billion VND) in revenue from emission reduction results and will be allocated in 3 periods in 2023-2025 to pay for more than 201,703 hectares of natural forest.
Information related to ERPA was provided by relevant units at the training session.
The Emission Reduction Payment Policy for the North Central Region (ERPA) is expected to generate an important source of funding to help maintain forest management and protection, contributing to national emission reduction targets and limiting global climate change. The successful implementation of the ERPA pilot will be a premise for the Government and ministries and sectors to implement payments nationwide.

At the training session, forest owners were informed by representatives of the Forest Protection and Development Fund of Ha Tinh province and units: Department of Finance, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Forest Protection Sub-Department about general information about ERPA, ERPA benefit sharing plan, ERPA payment activities, legal basis for forest owners who are organizations, responsibilities of related units and organizations...
In addition, delegates also exchanged, discussed and had their questions answered about the implementation of the greenhouse gas emission reduction payment policy in the North Central region.
