I am not unlucky
- How did you feel when you were invited to compete in "Beautiful Sister Riding the Wind" 2024?
17 years in the profession is probably enough to build a name and a stable position. I accepted the competition to have the opportunity to show all my abilities as well as experience challenges I have never faced before.
Circus, fire dancing, acrobatics, group singing... Performing with beautiful ladies as a girl group is very difficult. To work well together, we have to practice patience and many other factors.
- In season 1, the story of the beautiful ladies "fighting each other" caused a stir in public opinion for a long time. As a straightforward person, what did you tell yourself before agreeing to participate?
There will definitely be arguments! We can make peace but there won't be a good show to show to the public. Arguments are necessary if they help to reconcile personalities and are good for the team.
Thao Trang was radiant throughout the conversation.
Before the exam, I told myself to control myself before posting anything on social media. It took a lot of practice because anger and frustration are not easy to control.
I am straightforward and decisive at work. Anything that goes wrong is resolved on the spot, so no argument has ever gone beyond the limit. (laughs)
- You are very artistic, this is a good point but being too dreamy can easily miss many things in life!
Yes, it takes a lot. My time is about the same as everyone else's, but being a single mother and working takes up a large part of it.
I know I have missed many moments, appointments, and even offended many people. I was careless and did not pay close attention, that is my limitation, I don't know what else to say other than hoping everyone will understand.
- How do you evaluate your own hardships?
I don't think I've had a hard time, I'm still luckier than many people. If I had a hard time, I would have gone back to my garden to grow vegetables and raise fish. Everyone is born with a different mission. In art, everyone wants to have this or that position, but not everyone can have it just because they want to.
I'm not too ambitious, I just want peace and maintain my career like that. On the other hand, I'm confident that as long as I have a voice, I will live with it for the rest of my life.
I don’t have many hits, I don’t appear often on social media or charts, but I do have a lot of shows. I perform a lot, mostly private shows like corporate events.
Not only at work, in everyday life, I never force myself to achieve something to be happy and satisfied.
Thao Trang plant pot brings "Beautiful sister riding the wind" 2024.
Thao Trang is almost 40 years old, there are still many things to worry about in life, I can't focus all day on making hits. I have children, family and have to enjoy life!
Everyone wants to have a hit song, but these days the number of songs released each year is increasing, and the lifespan of a hit song is getting shorter. Can you listen to it? How many songs do you remember?
Many colleagues used to have many hits, but after a short period of no hits, they disappeared. Therefore, I do not let myself depend on hits to live and work with my voice.
Having a house and land, not poor and miserable as rumored
- How is your cholecystitis?
I had it 8 years ago due to intense training, irregular eating and sleeping during the Beautiful Sister contest, so it relapsed. After the 2nd performance, I had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment, and my condition is stable now.
Thao Trang has cholecystitis, herniated disc and other health problems that are not convenient to disclose.
I'll just live with it. My job is to eat well, keep my body healthy and balanced, and if it gets worse, I'll have surgery.
- How do you keep in shape?
After giving birth and having gallbladder disease, I had to take almost a year off, luckily it was quite easy to get back in shape when I exercised.
Currently, I do gym, pilates or yoga 2 times/week. Exercising a lot is not as good as exercising correctly. I have a herniated disc so I can’t do heavy exercise.
- Your finances are not as strong as others, how do you invest in "Beautiful Lady Riding the Wind"?
Besides the producer's investment, we all definitely want a little more here and a little more there to be satisfied. All the beautiful ladies are willing to spend money, when they come here, money is no longer important.
Of course, I weigh and measure within my ability, not to the point of having to borrow.
Thao Trang currently lives with her son - Alex and her biological mother in a luxury apartment complex in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City. Photo: Yeah1.
I am not too rich but not too poor. My life is very stable now, my child goes to a good school and I still perform regularly. Besides art, I also invest in this and that. Real estate, capital contribution, financial investment... I have a little bit of everything.
People feel sorry for me, but I'm not miserable. When I was young, my family had many children and was a bit poor, but I was still given a full education. When I grew up, I studied at the conservatory, sang to earn money, and I have never had any hardships.
- To be frank, every time reporters contact you, they see you love someone different. Do you love too many people?
(Laughs) Thinking positively, life gives me many different emotions! Once, a reporter interviewed me about my love life with my boyfriend. When the article said we were happy, in reality, we had broken up.
After that time, I noticed that whenever I shared about my boyfriend in the newspaper, he would break up with me not long after, like a "curse".
Thao Trang is happy and satisfied with what she has.
I love a lot, not that much, and I don't love "banging my head against the wall". Everything happens naturally, when fate comes, I accept it, when fate goes, I rejoice.
- Do you want to have your own wedding?
10 okay? (laughs) Just kidding, but marriage is a very serious matter. I have to meet the right person and have a really "ripe" relationship to hope for a wedding.
The wedding is just a birthday party. Living together is a long story. Seeing the brokenness around me, to be honest, I'm a little scared.
- So what do you wish for in life?
I want most to keep peace in my life and soul whether I get richer or poorer. Besides, of course, I also want to have more things, like a villa by the sea for example.
I have bought a small vineyard for my retirement. It is located along the Dong Nai River, very beautiful, suitable for growing vegetables and raising chickens.
I bought it just like that, but deep down I still wish I could live and sing until I'm old, I don't want to retire early!
