According to Simon Phillips, Chelsea have decided to activate the clause to officially sign Jadon Sancho next summer, for a fee of £23 million. The 24-year-old has had a brilliant time at Chelsea, scoring 2 goals and providing 3 assists in 10 Premier League matches.
Sancho endured a challenging time at Manchester United, falling out with manager Erik ten Hag, which led to him being loaned back to Dortmund and then Chelsea. At Chelsea, Sancho has earned the trust of manager Enzo Maresca and is slowly rediscovering his peak form from his time at Dortmund.
In addition to Sancho, Chelsea are also set to part ways with two players in January, Carney Chukwuemeka and Ben Chilwell, with manager Maresca saying both could be the first to leave the club due to a lack of regular playing time.
