The TikTok channel "Son returns to his hometown with his grandmother" features a grandson and his grandmother cooking simple dishes around a small fire. Looking at the old tiled 3-room house, many people can't help but feel emotional, remembering their grandparents.
"Happy to have you by my side"
The main character in the story of leaving the city to return to the countryside above is Mr. Bui Van Son (27 years old, in Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh), his grandmother is Bui Thi Su (83 years old).
Mr. Son said that he used to work as a salesman at a supermarket in Hanoi with a salary of about 15 million VND/month. While working away from home, he always missed the peaceful life in the countryside, the comfortable space. However, the young man could not help but worry about the income to cover his living expenses.

Beautiful family moments praised by many people
"Knowing that, during my time working in Hanoi, I tried to save money to go back to my hometown. I wanted to recreate the old life with my grandmother and share those images with everyone. Everyone has memories of their beloved grandparents and I believe this will help many people love their family more," the young man shared.
Grandmother's house is nearly 100 years old, left by Mr. Son's great-grandfather. Since getting married, his grandmother has lived in that house, and her children have replaced some of the broken tiles. The house may not be luxurious or modern, but it is a place that holds beautiful family memories. His grandmother and grandchild are Muong ethnic people, and he hopes that people will understand more about the family's life through simple films.
"When my grandmother and I cook together, she tells me little secrets from ancient times to make the dishes more flavorful and delicious. On Doan Ngo Festival (the 5th day of the 5th lunar month) or the 15th day of the 7th lunar month, my grandmother and I make traditional Muong cakes such as phu the cakes, it cakes, te cakes... to enjoy together," the grandchild said.
boundless love
Mr. Son still remembers the beautiful memories of the time he herded buffaloes and cut grass with his grandmother and cousins. She always had boundless love for her grandchildren, taking care of every meal and sleep. He brought those memories with him into life and considered them a solid foundation to overcome the hardships and obstacles in life.
The old house is still preserved by everyone.
Mrs. Su has 6 children (5 girls, 1 boy), currently her son's family lives near her. According to Mr. Son, she is a hard-working person, who worked hard in the past to raise her children to adulthood. Her old house is still preserved by her family until now, although there are some small problems such as the toilet is quite old, hot in the summer... Her children and grandchildren often remind her to be careful when walking, especially at night. In addition to living in her own house, Mrs. Su also often goes to her son's house, where she is cared for by her children and grandchildren.
The extended family still regularly gathers at her old house, especially during Tet. I always hope that my grandmother will always be healthy so that she and her grandchildren can continue to record loving images and warm stories," said Mr. Son.
Mrs. Su expressed that since her grandson returned to her hometown, she felt very happy and joyful. She hopes that he will grow up and continue to record his simple, familiar life for people all over the country to know.
"At first, my grandchild filmed it secretly so I didn't know. I just cooked and fussed around in the kitchen. Gradually, I saw my grandchild holding his phone more often, but I didn't feel embarrassed. I was even happier because my children and grandchildren often came to visit and people asked about me. I also didn't expect that at such an old age, I would still be on TV. Many people who came to visit said that I had become famous," Mrs. Su said with a laugh.
