On March 23, talking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Mai Hoang Thanh (27 years old, in Binh Son commune, Hon Dat district, Kien Giang province) said that he runs a boat and transports goods for hire for local people. Being attached to the river, he has started to invent models of boats and ships with engines and remote control for fun.

To successfully build a model of the "amphibious" Su-35 aircraft, Mr. Thanh made the hull look like a ship (to ensure it floats on water). Then, he calculated the design of the fuselage length of about 7.3m and the width of 4.6m to be proportional, ensuring that when put into water it runs stably, without shaking or tipping over.

9X guy makes model of Su-35 fighter jet running on water, what does the Department of Transport say?

The Su-35 model above weighs 350kg, so Mr. Thanh had to go to Ho Chi Minh City to buy two old engines (Kawasaki brand, 650cc horsepower) and propellers to install and run.

"The most difficult stage when designing the Su-35 fighter jet that runs on water is when creating the aircraft model, the aircraft nose, the fuselage and the wings. I looked at the image for everything and every detail, then selected the appropriate material, created the frame and poured composite plastic to make it sturdy and safe.

For the steering wheel, I chose a bicycle neck that fits the width and is easy to drive underwater," Thanh added.

To complete this water-based plane, Mr. Thanh spent more than 3 months at a cost of about 90 million VND. When finished, he took the plane to the Vam Ray sluice gate (Hon Dat district) for a test run. Viewers were satisfied and impressed.

The plane glides at a speed of 68-70km/h and runs very smoothly on the water surface. "Thanh's model Su-35 running on water is very unique. This invention makes me feel really impressed", said Mr. Nguyen Van Son - in Binh Son commune.

Model aircraft need to be registered if they want to be circulated.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , a leader of the Department of Transport of Kien Giang province said that vehicles participating in waterway traffic, whether motorized or non-motorized, must comply with the provisions of the law.

Model inventions are small water vehicles running in fields and ponds, so they do not need to be registered. However, if the invention of a water vehicle running at over 30km/h is a high-speed vehicle, the operator must have full relevant qualifications, register or register for inspection to ensure compliance with legal regulations.

"Supporting the spirit of invention and copyright, we think that when inventing like Mr. Thanh's case, we should also learn and contact the provincial Department of Science and Technology or relevant local units for guidance when necessary," the leader of the Kien Giang Department of Transport added.

Ngoài chế máy bay chạy trên nước, anh Thanh còn chế thêm các loại ghe, tàu rất độc đáo

In addition to making planes that run on water, Mr. Thanh also makes very unique boats and ships.
