On the afternoon of September 10, President Joe Biden arrived at Noi Bai Airport on Air Force One, beginning a state visit at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. This is President Joe Biden's first visit to Vietnam since taking office in early 2021.
During the welcoming ceremony at the airport, a female student from the capital presented flowers and welcomed US President Joe Biden.

The female student who gave flowers to the US President is named Nguyen Tra My, currently a 12H student at Olympia High School, Hanoi.
Tra My has been an excellent student for many years, and is considered by teachers to be an active and friendly student. The female student shared that she has a passion for medicine and plans to pursue Dentistry in Australia after graduating from high school.
Female student Nguyen Tra My said that when she learned that she was chosen to present flowers to the US President, she felt very nervous, a little worried but also excited.
“I feel honored and lucky to have the opportunity to meet and welcome the US President. Through our conversation, although the time was quite short, I felt that the US President is a very close and friendly person. The President also gave me compliments after meeting me and receiving flowers,” Tra My said.
Tra My said she hopes US President Joe Biden will have a successful visit to Vietnam and that the relationship between the two countries will become even better after the visit.
