This man never expected that he would get into such unpleasant situations.
Take care of the old neighbor with all your heart
After going to the city to study at university, Tan Vuong (Nanning, China) returned to his hometown to build a family and start a career.
He was lucky to be given a piece of land in a new urban area by his wife's parents so he was able to build a house early. After living there for a while, he gradually became acquainted with an old man named Tran who lived next door.
According to this old man, he once had a family that was an ideal model for many people.
Previously, the couple's business was very prosperous. After about 10 years of marriage, the family had 2 sons.
All of them were carefully looked after by his wife and had excellent academic records. After completing their studies in the country, his two children went abroad to work and rarely returned.

He said he had lied many times about being sick just to hope his children would take the time to visit home. However, all he received were greetings.
“They always said they were busy with work and couldn’t arrange it. Also because they were always thinking about their children and grandchildren, at the age of 65, my wife passed away. Even until the day she passed away, the children only came back when everything was done,” he sadly recounted.
After his wife passed away, this old man did not remarry but decided to stay single.
Without children around, Mr. Tran finds joy in his own passions and spends time with his neighbors.
That is why he is always respected and loved by everyone around him, from the elderly to children.
However, in recent years, his health has been getting worse. As next-door neighbors, Tan Vuong and his wife could hardly bear to watch him struggle alone in his final years.
"Seeing that Uncle Tran's condition was getting worse, my wife and I decided to take on the responsibility of taking care of him," he said.
At first, Mr. Tran refused this kindness, worried that it would bother everyone. Over time, he gradually opened up. In the following three years, whenever the old man fell ill, Tan Vuong and his wife were always by his side, day and night, to take care of him.

“Outsiders often think that my husband and I have too much time to do such things. However, we have never thought that way. We always believe that distant relatives are not as good as neighbors living next door. We will help anyone when we can, not just Mr. Tran,” Mr. Vuong confided.
Over time, the two families became as close as blood relatives. During the holidays, Tan Vuong and his wife often invited the old man to their house to eat with them. Mr. Tran also considered this neighbor as a descendant of the family, wholeheartedly teaching him good and right things.
In trouble when the old man passed away
In the blink of an eye, at the beginning of this year, Mr. Tran turned 85. He often had a bad feeling about his health. However, Tan Vuong still encouraged him to try because not everyone can live that long.
“Until the last day of March this year, I went to Mr. Tran’s house as usual. I knocked on the door for a long time but no one answered. I felt something was wrong so I took the spare key he lent me to enter the house.
I ran straight into the bedroom to check. Sadly, Mr. Tran had left our family with his wife. I immediately searched for information to contact his children to inform them. However, the two ignored me, saying that they asked my family to help with the funeral arrangements because they could not return in time,” Tan Vuong recounted.
After that, the whole work of the old man's funeral was taken care of by the couple. Mr. Tran's children only returned after a week when the lawyer informed them that the will would be announced. That day, Tan Vuong and his wife were also asked to attend.
According to the will, the old man left the new Vuong couple a house and 500,000 NDT (about 1.7 billion VND). It was thought that Mr. Tran's two children would understand the contributions of the new Vuong couple and would not have any awkward reactions. However, in reality, things took a negative turn.
These two people were angry and refused to accept the will, no matter how much the lawyer tried to convince them. Mr. Tran's family even sued the neighbor couple in court. They claimed that Tan Vuong's family forced Mr. Tran to make this will in order to take the property.
However, the black and white paper cannot be changed. At the same time, the old man's two sons could not provide relevant evidence. In the end, the court still made the final decision to keep the content of the will left by Mr. Tran.
“When I was taking care of Mr. Tran, I never thought I would inherit anything. When my name was in the will, I didn’t expect to get into a series of unnecessary troubles,” Tan Vuong confided.
It seemed that Mr. Tran's children were not comfortable with the court's decision. Just two days later, Tan Vuong and his wife decided to meet the old man's family and return all of his property. He said that helping the old man came from the heart. He himself felt that this gift was too big, so he decided not to take anything.
