For many years now, thanks to boldly converting from rice and corn fields to red peanut fields, the Thai ethnic people in Na Son commune, Dien Bien Dong district, Dien Bien province have increased their income and improved their lives a lot.

Red peanuts are a traditional crop that has been associated with the people of Na Son commune for generations. However, in the past, people of Na Son commune mainly planted red peanuts spontaneously and in small scale, resulting in low productivity and output.

In recent years, with the attention of the Dien Bien Dong district government, Na Son commune has focused on developing red peanuts as a key crop to promote economic development, the planting area is mainly concentrated in the villages of Na Lanh, Su Lu, Long Chuong, Co Ha,...

Na Son red peanuts are grown twice a year. Every year around January-February and July-August, people take advantage of high fields without water, upland areas, gardens, and alluvial land along streams to grow red peanuts.

After about 110-130 days, people here are bustling and happy in the peanut harvest season after many days of care and cultivation with all their hope and enthusiasm.

Na Son red peanuts have their own characteristics, grown in mineral-rich land, where the water source is pure and the natural conditions are favorable, crystallizing into solid, large peanuts that are both rich, fatty, and fragrant, completely different from peanuts in the lowlands and other regions.

Red peanuts are meticulously cared for by diligent farmers, every step of the way, using traditional methods to preserve their distinctive flavor.

At harvest, people bring peanuts home to separate the tubers or seeds, dry them, and store them in a vacuum to eat gradually throughout the year and save seeds for planting the next crop.

Na Son red peanuts have been highly appreciated for their clean, safe, natural growing process that ensures consumer health and, more importantly, the quality of each peanut.

With its delicious flavor, Na Son red peanuts always win the favor and trust of customers, so during the harvest season, traders from everywhere come to the villages to buy, so people do not have to worry about the output of the product.

Ms. Lo Thi Mang in Su Lu village, Na Son commune (Dien Bien Dong district, Dien Bien province) shared: She has grown peanuts on her family's 3,000 m2 agricultural land.

Since converting the inefficient rice and corn fields to red peanuts, the land preparation is similar, but brings high economic benefits, her family's income has improved significantly. The economic efficiency is 3-4 times higher than rice and other crops.
