Ranked 17th in the world, Thuy Linh secured a spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics from the beginning of April.

Although Vietnamese sports fans were previously very happy to hear that badminton had two more spots to participate in the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, this result was only confirmed when the Badminton World Federation announced it.

Accordingly, on April 30, the Badminton World Federation announced the latest rankings; at the same time, it is also the basis for determining the results of the official tickets to the Olympics in the capital of France 2024.

The regulation to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics in the men's and women's singles of badminton is that athletes must be ranked from 01 to 34 in the Olympic qualifying rankings (not the world rankings). In which, from positions 01 to 16, each country is allowed to have a maximum of 02 athletes participating. Ranks 17 to 34 have a maximum of 01 person.

Specifically, in the ranking for female tennis players competing for Olympic tickets, Thuy Linh is ranked 17th on the ranking. Thus, Thuy Linh has won a ticket to Paris (France) 2024. This is the second time in her career, Nguyen Thuy Linh has participated in the Olympic Games. The first time was at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics (Japan).

Le Duc Phat is ranked 34th in the world.

In the men's category, Le Duc Phat ranked 34th, thereby also winning a ticket to Paris 2024. This is the first time in his career that Le Duc Phat has competed in the most prestigious arena on the planet.

To get this prestigious ticket, from 2022 to now, Nguyen Thuy Linh and Le Duc Phat have both set their own determination to compete in many international tournaments to increase their personal scores. The target programs of both players are similar and are jointly implemented by the Badminton Department (Department of Sports and Physical Training) and the Vietnam Badminton Federation with the governing unit.

Accordingly, the goal is for athletes to compete in as many tournaments as possible in the International Challenge system to accumulate appropriate points and achieve a good ranking on the world rankings. After that, athletes will gradually move on to participate in a higher level tournament system, the World Tour Super of the Badminton World Federation.

Currently, Duc Phat and Thuy Linh are focusing on training at Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports. Both players also plan to compete in a number of international tournaments in May and June to best prepare for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.

Thus, as of April 30, Vietnamese Sports has 11 places to attend the 2024 Paris Olympics: Nguyen Thi That (cycling), Trinh Thu Vinh, Le Thi Mong Tuyen (shooting), Vo Thi Kim Anh (boxing), Nguyen Huy Hoang (swimming), Trinh Van Vinh (weightlifting), Nguyen Thuy Linh, Nguyen Thi Huong (canoeing), Pham Thi Hue (rowing) and Nguyen Thuy Linh, Le Duc Phat (badminton).
