(Dan Tri) - The bridge over Ganh Hao River, costing over 655 billion VND, the largest ever connecting Bac Lieu and Ca Mau, is expected to be completed at the end of November.
On August 21, according to information from the Management Board of Ca Mau Province Traffic Construction Project (investor), the investment project to build a bridge across the Ganh Hao River has achieved about 65% progress. This project started more than a year ago.

The project scale includes a road section of more than 6km and 2 bridges, of which Ganh Hao bridge is 12m wide, 770m long and Vam Muong bridge is 9m wide, 170m long. The project to build a bridge across Ganh Hao river has an investment of more than 655 billion VND, connecting Ca Mau (starting point in Dam Doi district) and Bac Lieu (ending point in Dong Hai district). This is considered the largest bridge project connecting these two provinces to date.

According to the Management Board of Ca Mau Province Traffic Construction Project, the units are constructing 7/7 construction packages. Of which, Ganh Hao Bridge (17 spans) alone is constructing the pier base, drilling bored piles, preparing for beam placement, etc. Ganh Hao Bridge is expected to be closed at the end of November, technically opened to traffic in December and accepted to put the project into use in the first quarter of 2025.

According to the investor, the project to build a bridge across the Ganh Hao River aims to gradually complete the transport infrastructure system according to the approved planning of the two provinces of Bac Lieu and Ca Mau. In addition, the project creates a road connecting the Song Doc estuary (Ca Mau province) with the Ganh Hao estuary (Bac Lieu province), shortening the travel time, transporting passengers and goods, meeting the increasing transportation demand; contributing to attracting investment, creating momentum to promote socio-economic development of the two southernmost provinces of the country in particular and the region in general.
