(Dan Tri) - After 4 years since the groundbreaking, Bach Dang 2 Bridge connecting Tan Uyen City (Binh Duong) with Vinh Cuu District (Dong Nai) will be inaugurated on the morning of September 23, connecting the two banks of the two Southeast provinces across the Dong Nai River.
After nearly 4 years of construction, Bach Dang 2 Bridge, connecting Vinh Cuu District (Dong Nai) and Tan Uyen City (Binh Duong) with a total investment of 500 billion VND, is expected to be inaugurated on the morning of September 23. Construction began in 2021, including the main bridge and approach roads with a total length of nearly 3 km. The bridge is more than 400m long, 17m wide and has 4 lanes. The capital of 500 billion VND is divided equally between Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces, in which each province bears 50% of the main bridge. The approach road will be invested from the local budget. The project is invested by the Binh Duong Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, with the construction contractor being a consortium of Cienco 4 Group Joint Stock Company and Construction and Investment Joint Stock Company 492. The day before the inauguration, the project was basically completed. Contractors are rushing to clean up and complete the unfinished sub-items. At noon on September 22, a group of workers were constructing the slope of the approach road to the bridge on the Binh Duong side. According to the representative of the construction unit, this work will be completed within the day. On September 2, Bach Dang 2 Bridge was technically opened to traffic. After that, the investor barricaded both ends of the bridge to continue constructing the remaining items of the approach road, painting and installing traffic signs. Bach Dang 2 Bridge is designed with 6 anti-collision pillars to ensure safety when the Dong Nai River has a high density of ships and barges. The anti-collision pillars are built with solid concrete blocks. The warning lights on the bridge use solar energy technology to save electricity. Once completed, Bach Dang 2 Bridge will connect Tan Uyen City (Binh Duong) with Vinh Cuu District (Dong Nai), shortening the travel distance between the two localities. People in the Dong Nai River basin will have favorable opportunities to develop trade, especially with specialty products such as pomelos with orange leaves and green-skin pomelos. The project of planting grass on the slope of the approach road to Bach Dang 2 Bridge on the Binh Duong side is being urgently completed before the inauguration. The Bach Dang 2 Bridge project also helps connect the Central Highlands, Southeast, Long Thanh airport and major seaports. The travel direction from Binh Phuoc province to Vung Tau will be faster with the Bach Dang 2 Bridge. The road leading to Bach Dang 2 Bridge was decorated with banners and flags along both sides of the road before the inauguration on September 23. This project was inaugurated on the occasion of the two provinces of Dong Nai and Binh Duong holding a Conference to Announce the Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Although located in the Southern Key Economic Zone with many economic and cultural connections, Dong Nai and Binh Duong only have two connecting bridges: Dong Nai Bridge on National Highway 1A and Thu Bien Bridge. Bach Dang 2 Bridge is the third bridge across the Dong Nai River, connecting the two provinces. Ms. Le Thi Hai Yen, a resident of Binh Loi commune (Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai), shared: "We have been waiting for the inauguration of Bach Dang bridge for a long time. Previously, traveling to Tan Uyen city by ferry was very inconvenient. Now that there is a new bridge, everyone is happy and excited." According to the plan, Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces plan to build 4 new bridges across Dong Nai River and Be River to connect the two provinces, including: Hieu Liem 2, Tan An - Lac An, Tan Hien - Thuong Tan, and Thanh Hoi 2.
