Over 200 million steps recorded, $30,000 raised

CapitaLand Development (CLD) has just successfully concluded the second season of the “Footsteps of Love” campaign in Hanoi, with more than 200 million footsteps recorded from the online campaign and outdoor walking events.

The program is part of the annual global campaign #GivingAsOne initiated by CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF). With the total number of steps achieved, CHF donated US$30,000 (equivalent to more than VND700 million) to Blue Dragon Children's Foundation to support street children and students in difficult circumstances. The program was announced during the Group's 30th anniversary of operations in the Vietnamese market.

Following the success of the event in Binh Duong in March 2024, "Footsteps of Love" in Hanoi received great attention from the community when attracting more than 5,000 participants, with a total of 20 million steps recorded during outdoor walking activities in Ocean City.

Participants have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the 2km and 5km routes, as well as experience many interesting interactive activities including physical games and special performances.

Footsteps open up a bright future for disadvantaged children

The enthusiastic participation of families and groups of friends helped reinforce the message of compassion and community strength that the program was aiming for. The outdoor walking event also officially concluded the online walking campaign that lasted nearly 2 months.

Mr. Alwin Low - General Director of the Northern Region of CLD (Vietnam) shared: “CLD is very pleased to receive great support for the second season of “Footsteps of Love”. We are honored to accompany Blue Dragon Children's Organization, as well as sponsors on this meaningful journey of raising the community. In the coming time, we will strive to launch more campaigns for the community to create positive values.”

The campaign aims to highlight the importance of increasing the rate of children going to school and reducing the dropout rate for disadvantaged students in Vietnam. Mr. Do Duy Vi - Co-CEO of Blue Dragon Children's Foundation shared: “Besides physical improvement activities, this campaign also brings opportunities to change the future. Every step we take today carries hope for the right to learn, develop, and build a bright future with equality. CapitaLand has implemented a meaningful and humane activity, bringing the strength of the community to help children overcome difficulties and continue to pursue their educational dreams, so that no child is left behind”.
