GĐXH - This is the content discussed by leading experts in the field of interventional cardiology in the scientific workshop "Management of atrial fibrillation: From electrocardiogram to ablation of persistent atrial fibrillation" recently organized by Viet Phap Hospital.
On October 19, Hanoi French Hospital successfully organized the scientific workshop "Management of atrial fibrillation: From electrocardiogram to durable atrial fibrillation ablation", creating a forum for professional exchange and updating the latest advances in the treatment of atrial fibrillation - one of the most common heart rhythm disorders today.
With the participation of leading doctors and experts in the field of interventional cardiology from many major hospitals such as Bach Mai Hospital, Hanoi Heart Hospital, Military Hospital 103, etc., the workshop focused on important aspects of electrophysiological examination and catheter ablation intervention.
Dr. Alain Lebon - Department of Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, Hanoi French Hospital presented the report "Electrocardiogram and multipolar" analyzing and specifically comparing the superior effectiveness of multipolar technology compared to monopolar and bipolar electrocardiograms based on specific data from studies around the world.
Dr. Alain Lebon said: "Electrophysiological mapping plays a particularly important role in atrial fibrillation ablation. Multipolar technology overcomes the limitations of conventional monopolar and bipolar electrograms, providing much clearer and more accurate map images at complex locations in the heart, helping to increase the success rate of the intervention and avoid possible complications."
Raising the controversial issue of atrial fibrillation ablation orientation, Dr. Pham Nhu Hung - Deputy Director of the Hospital, Director of the Emergency and Interventional Cardiology Center, Hanoi Heart Hospital - presented the report "Persistent atrial fibrillation ablation: Pulmonary vein isolation is not enough".
To prove the above argument, Dr. Pham Nhu Hung presented the results of in-depth studies, sharing data on the success rate in cases of simple pulmonary vein isolation (PVI), pulmonary vein isolation combined with complex fractional atrial electrocautery (CFAE) and other methods.
Dr. Pham Nhu Hung emphasized, " In ablation of persistent atrial fibrillation, in many cases, isolating the pulmonary vein alone is not enough. There is no one strategy that is the same for all cases. Depending on the clinical case, ablation may even be possible without the need to isolate the pulmonary vein. " The assessment and selection of intervention direction requires doctors to consider carefully, aiming for the highest efficiency, avoiding the risk of atrial flutter, recurrent atrial fibrillation or other complications for patients.
After two in-depth reports, doctors and experts attending the conference had the opportunity to ask questions about real situations and cases. The interactive and discussion atmosphere demonstrated the spirit of cooperation, learning, willingness to share experiences, and update medical advances of doctors at home and abroad.
Dr. Erwan Debuc - Medical Director, Hanoi French Hospital, shared: "We especially appreciate the presence and contributions of the doctors in today's scientific conference. The exchange and cooperation in professional support between doctors of the two countries is especially necessary to bring patients in Vietnam the most suitable treatment solutions."
At the end of the program, the delegates visited the modern cardiovascular intervention room of the Hanoi French Hospital and learned more about the latest generation of the Abbott Ensite X 3D electrophysiology mapping system, the first in Vietnam.
From the success of the Workshop, Viet Phap Hospital will continue to organize meaningful events and workshops in the near future, hoping to receive support and professional exchange from doctors.
