Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway through Xuan Loc District (Dong Nai)

The 560 m2 land plot of Mr. Nguyen Huu Khoa's family (55 years old, residing in Binh Minh Hamlet, Suoi Cat Commune, Xuan Loc District, Dong Nai) is located entirely within the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway project. Complying with the state's policy and the government's advocacy, in September 2020, Mr. Khoa relocated and handed over the site to the construction unit.

Standing at the intersection of Phan Thiet - Dau Giay highway and provincial road 765, Mr. Khoa pointed to the location where his family used to live.

The family of Nguyen Huu Le (39 years old, Khoa's neighbor) is in the same situation. More than 3,500 square meters of his family's land was cleared. At the end of 2020, Le's family of 5 people moved to a rented house to give up their land for the project. Le hopes that the government will soon provide resettlement land so that he can build a house and stabilize his life.

Due to land acquisition problems and some households not yet relocated, the project is behind schedule.

The project started in 2021 and was expected to be completed on April 30, 2023, but due to site clearance problems because some households had not yet relocated, the project was delayed.

Infrastructure in the resettlement area is still incomplete.

Responding to Thanh Nien reporter, Mr. Le Khac Son, Vice Chairman of Xuan Loc District People's Committee, said that by the end of January 2024, the infrastructure items in the resettlement area had been basically completed. It is expected that after the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024, resettlement will be organized for the people.

Tired of waiting for compensation for land clearance on National Highway 20

The investment project to build and renovate National Highway 20, nearly 110 km long from Dau Giay (Dong Nai) to Bao Loc (Lam Dong), with a total investment of VND 4,466 billion under the form of build-transfer (BT). The investor is the Ministry of Transport, the project was completed in April 2015 and officially put into use in August 2015.

In Dong Nai, a total of 11,055 households, individuals and organizations had their land confiscated, with the total compensation and support amounting to hundreds of billions of VND. However, at that time, households had only received compensation and support for housing and crops, while land compensation had not been implemented because the management boundary of the road had not been determined to determine the compensation price.

According to the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, the province has so far received 242 billion VND from the investor and paid it to the people. The amount yet to be received is 213 billion VND. The Provincial People's Committee is directing the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to work and urge the Ministry of Transport to arrange funds to pay and compensate the people.
