North-South Expressway crosses Lam River to Ha Tinh before opening day

According to the request of the Ministry of Transport , the remaining 19km of the North-South Eastern Expressway project in the 2017-2020 period, the Dien Chau (Nghe An) - Bai Vot (Ha Tinh) section will be opened to traffic before June 30. The entire remaining volume of this project must be completed before September 30. Previously, about 30km of this project from Dien Chau to Hung Nguyen (Nghe An) held a traffic opening ceremony on April 28 and was put into operation the following day to meet the progress required by the Prime Minister. According to Dan Tri reporters, the section from Hung Duc bridge to the end of the project route at the intersection with National Highway 8A (Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh) has completed the paving.

In the picture, Hung Duc Bridge is over 4km long - one of the important items of the project. This bridge crosses Lam River, passes through alluvial plains, La River, La Giang dike, residential area and rice fields in Duc Tho District (Ha Tinh).

On Hung Duc Bridge, railings, anti-glare nets, road markings and lighting systems are nearly completed.

At this time, investors, contractors, workers, and engineers are rushing to complete the final route of the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway project. The construction is being carried out in a rolling manner to install traffic safety systems, signs, and road markings.

According to the design, in the phased phase, the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway project is invested with a scale of 4 lanes, roadbed width of 17m. In the completed phase, the project is designed with a design speed of 100-120km/h.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet, General Director of Phuc Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company (a business established by the investor to implement the project), said that up to now, Hung Duc Bridge has completed the asphalt concrete paving and is completing the remaining expansion joints. If the weather is favorable, by June 22, the remaining 19km of the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway project will be completed with asphalt concrete. "Before June 25, the traffic safety system will be completed. After that, we will do some procedures such as acceptance with the units to open the entire route to traffic on June 30 as required by the Ministry of Transport," Mr. Viet informed.

The National Highway 8A intersection (Thanh Binh Thinh Commune, Duc Tho District) is the connecting point of the two expressway component projects Dien Chau - Bai Vot and Bai Vot - Ham Nghi. Therefore, the first point of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi component project will be accelerated to be completed in time for the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway project to open to traffic at the end of June.

At the National Highway 8A intersection construction site, the contractor arranged vehicles, machinery and human resources divided into many teams to work together to lay asphalt concrete, slope roof, install railing system and signs.

When the National Highway 8 interchange is completed, car drivers can travel from the north to Duc Tho district (Ha Tinh) to continue their journey and vice versa.
