Recently, although many cases of home camera hacking have been discovered and the perpetrators have been prosecuted, in reality, camera hacking is still happening quietly everywhere. Even information and images from hacked cameras are being sold on social networks.
According to the reporter of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, on the Telegram application there are dozens of groups specializing in hacking cameras with from 7,000 to 200,000 followers, regularly posting sensitive content in the daily lives of families, spas, fashion stores, beauty salons...
The clips for sale are blurred, anyone who agrees to buy must transfer money to receive a clearer clip.
Contacting an account that is an admin of a Telegram group, we were quoted with 2 different packages: VIP Reaction and VIP ID Cam.
Accordingly, the VIP Reaction package costs from 150,000 VND (trial package) to 500,000 VND (full sensitive videos ) and the VIP ID Cam package costs from 400,000 VND to 800,000 VND (permanent).
Notably, when registering for the VIP ID Cam package, the administrator said that users will receive 15 camera codes of the latest households, businesses, spas...
In addition, "customers" also enjoy privileges such as viewing other people's cameras directly, exchanging and discussing hacked cameras, and being updated with the latest videos and compilation videos.

Not only on Telegram, social network Tiktok also occasionally appears some similar clips.
Commenting on social networks, many users said that installing cameras in the bedroom is making them feel more insecure than safe.
Explaining this, Mr. Nguyen Minh Nguyen, product manager of Imou Camera, said that there are still many users who do not fully understand the camera features.
Normally, on the cameras there will be information such as serial number, default password. Therefore, after installation, customers must immediately change it.
"To increase absolute security, users should use cameras with 2-step authentication using passwords and OTP codes from phone numbers. With the user's consent, the camera will no longer be hacked," said Mr. Nguyen.
Similarly, a representative of FPT Camera also said that on camera lines of other brands, especially from China, default passwords are often used, making it easy for criminals to hack the camera.
At the same time, the camera also uses a network protocol (UPNP) to automatically publicize videos without the user knowing. Most people who are IT staff with good skills can access images from this customer's camera.
In addition, another reason comes from the fact that camera installation technicians set passwords and provide remote access solutions through dynamic domain name system (DDNS), opening router ports so that these employees have access to customers' homes anytime, anywhere.
"To prevent camera hacking, users need to upgrade to the latest storage and reset a long enough password after installing the camera" - FPT Camera representative said.
