Can Giuoc District focuses on developing products under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program with the goal of gradually building key, typical agricultural products to increase economic value, agricultural production efficiency, increase income, and improve people's lives.
Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Can Giuoc District, Long An Province - Nguyen Thi Thanh Tuyen said that the district currently has 30 3-star OCOP products. The OCOP program is actively implemented by the district to create a "brand" for local products. From there, it creates high added value, increases income for people; contributes to continuing to restructure the agricultural sector associated with the development of small-scale industry and occupations, promotes production chain linkages associated with consumption and builds a new rural district.
Phuoc Hau commune has the largest vegetable growing area in the district. Phuoc Hiep Safe Vegetable Cooperative, Phuoc Hau commune takes advantage of the rich raw material area in terms of land, soil, climate and year-round fresh water to grow leafy vegetables and sweet cabbage using high technology in greenhouses and net houses.
In addition, the cooperative also applies a smart, energy-saving irrigation system and new generation organic fertilizers. In this way, the cooperative ensures a green, clean environment after harvest and produces safe products according to VietGAP standards.
Thanks to the business and production linkage, many agricultural products have clear origins, the cooperative creates jobs for some farmers in difficult circumstances with a stable source of income. From there, it helps farmers improve their lives, enhance their spiritual life and develop local products.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phuoc Hiep Safe Vegetable Cooperative - Tran Thanh Minh informed that up to now, the Cooperative has 5 products including green mustard, green onion, sweet cabbage, Malabar spinach, and watercress that have been recognized as meeting 3-star OCOP standards. These vegetables are produced in a closed environment, following the organic direction; are naturally cared for, and are harvested and processed using high technology. Thanks to the application of VietGAP process and OCOP certification, the brand is created and brings satisfaction to customers.
According to information from the People's Committee of Can Giuoc District, OCOP products have quickly affirmed their position and been positively received by the market. Thereby, helping farmers expand their production scale, contributing to economic restructuring and increasing income. Through the OCOP Program, the district's typical and traditional products are effectively exploited to meet market demand.
In the coming time, the district will continue to promote trade and advertise OCOP products on e-commerce platforms.
