In recent times, in Nghe An, there have been many abandoned and delayed projects, causing waste of the state budget. The project to build the Center for the Conservation and Promotion of Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam Folk Heritage (Nguyen Du Street, Vinh City, Nghe An) was started in 2016 by the Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports as the investor.

The project has a total investment of 70 billion VND in phase 1, however after nearly 9 years of construction, the project is still not completed and has been abandoned for many years.

The reason the project has not been completed and put into use is due to lack of capital to implement the construction of phase 2 of the project.

The project to build a new Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted (in Nghi An Commune, Vinh City - Nghi Phong Commune, Nghi Loc District, Nghe An) started construction in 2018 with 3 phases. Phase 1 has a total investment of 95 billion VND. The total investment for all 3 phases is nearly 500 billion VND.

Phase 1 items have been completed. However, the project currently does not have capital to implement phase 2, so it is abandoned. Phase 2 items include the construction of a 3-4-storey administrative building with a construction area of ​​nearly 500m2; a dining hall of more than 700m2; a 4-storey student dormitory...

The project to build a clean water plant in Hung Thong commune, Hung Nguyen district (Nghe An) started construction 6 years ago with a total investment of 25 billion VND from the state budget. However, after many years of construction, it has not been put into use yet, leaving it abandoned, causing waste.

Due to being abandoned for many years, many construction items were damaged.

The Supreme People's Court building of Vinh City (Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, Vinh City) was agreed to be handed over to Nghe An Province by the Supreme People's Court. However, after Nghe An Province took over, it remained abandoned for many years.

An official from the Nghe An Department of Finance said that because the land of the old headquarters of the Vinh City People's Court is planned as national defense and security land, it cannot be auctioned to increase budget revenue. Therefore, we must wait for the conversion of land use purpose and planning adjustment to be completed before it is eligible for auction according to regulations.

The headquarters of the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, Vinh City (Nghe An) has been abandoned for nearly a year.

In the near future, Nghe An province will arrange for the province's Emulation and Reward Board to move its headquarters here.
