TPO - The Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Plant Project ( Ha Tinh ) has a total cost of 2.2 billion USD, invested in the form of BOT, expected to be commercially operational in the third quarter of 2025. Every day, more than 4,200 workers work continuously to ensure the set progress.

The Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Plant Project is located in the Vung Ang Economic Zone, Ky Loi Commune, Ky Anh Town (Ha Tinh). The project has a total investment of 2.2 billion USD, in the form of BOT, invested by Vung Ang II Thermal Power Company Limited (VAPCO). The project has 2 units with a total capacity of 1,330 MW.

Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Plant is constructed by the contractors: Doosan Heavy Industry and Construction Co., Ltd., Samsung C&T Group, and Pacific Group Corporation. It is expected that in the third quarter of 2025, the project will be completed and put into commercial operation.

The project has main items such as construction of the main factory, coal unloading wharf, ash and slag storage yard and related auxiliary works.

Speaking to PV Tien Phong , Mr. Hoang Trong Binh - Deputy General Director of Vung Ang II Thermal Power Company Limited (VAPCO) said: "The project has now reached 83% of the total progress. It is expected that Unit 1 will be put into commercial operation in June 2025, and the entire plant will be completed and Unit 2 will be put into operation in October of the same period. Currently, there are more than 4,200 workers working at the construction site every day to ensure the set progress."
