TPO – Co May Bridge connecting Ba Ria City and Vung Tau City (Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province) is designed in the shape of a seagull, representing the dream of flying high, flying far and the strength of youth, rising strongly, closely connecting the two young cities.

Co May Bridge crosses the Co May River, located on Highway 51, the main gateway to Vung Tau City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, with a length of 258 m and a width of 30 m.

The seagull-shaped steel truss system is more than 300 m long.

The entire project has a steel mass of nearly 2,000 tons.

Steel truss blocks weighing 10 – 25 tons are transported to the construction site by barge, then lifted from the barge for assembly.

Since 2017, to create a typical architectural highlight for the connecting location between the two cities of Vung Tau and Ba Ria, exploiting tourism potential..., the design of the seagull wing was chosen to carry out the project.

The project has a total investment of nearly 115 billion VND, invested by the Civil and Industrial Project Management Board of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

The project started construction in 2018. The construction process encountered many difficulties such as relocating water and electricity pipes, geological treatment, etc.

The existing Co May Bridge consists of two opposite lanes separated by railings and two water pipes.

The seagull wings are assembled firmly and securely.

According to the design, each side of the bridge has two truss systems forming the image of a pair of seagull wings.

The two truss systems on both sides are connected to each other through a steel pipe horizontal bracing system. Along the two wings is a steel pipe suspension system…

The bridge renovation project also designed two wide walkways on both sides, with railings higher than 1 meter.

The project is invested in construction with items including renovating the existing Co May bridge with a new structural system; the outer bridge abutments are covered with red-brown granite; the existing bridge's outer railing system is replaced with reinforced concrete railings, the surface is finished with granite...

The height of the main space frame is from the foundation to the top of the frame, more than 26 m.

The existing traffic lighting system is replaced by lighting poles designed with stylized shapes from the image of the May Grass flower.

The bridge uses color-changing LED headlights, illuminating at night to create a special visual effect.
