Mr. Bui Duc Giang - Secretary of Phu Tho Provincial Youth Union - awarded the "Brave Youth" badge to the relatives of Mr. Pham Hoang Chuong.

At the badge awarding ceremony, Secretary of Phu Tho Provincial Youth Union Bui Duc Giang praised the bravery and self-sacrifice of Pham Hoang Chuong and stated that the "Brave Youth" badge is a worthy recognition from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for Chuong and his family.

" Personally, I and the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Phu Tho province really admire him. Chuong is a model young man in the new era, ready to sacrifice himself for society and those around him. After the Provincial Youth Union sent the proposal, the Central Youth Union promptly acknowledged it, showing the concern of the Youth Union for young people across the country ," the Secretary of the Phu Tho Provincial Youth Union emphasized.

Mr. Bui Duc Giang said that in the coming time, the Provincial Youth Union and the press agencies of Phu Tho province will spread the story of Mr. Pham Hoang Chuong so that the youth of the province in particular and the whole country in general can learn and follow his example.

Mrs. Lan expressed that perhaps no pain can compare to that of parents losing their children, and for her, the pain and sorrow are multiplied when her daughter-in-law is still too young and her grandchildren are still immature.

But standing before the altar of her late son, she promised herself that she would work hard and be resilient to build her family, to be a support for her husband and daughter-in-law to raise her grandchildren.

" The badge awarded today is a priceless asset that you have left for my family. I hope that your work will spread so that everyone, especially the young generation, will know that there are many good things in this life and we can do many more good things, " looking at her son's portrait, the mother choked up.

In mid-August, VTC News received a petition from Ms. Do Thi Quynh Mai (Cau Giay District, Hanoi) about her petition to the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to award the "Brave Youth" badge to Mr. Pham Hoang Chuong (Thanh Thuy District, Phu Tho) for his act of saving people in an emergency situation.

According to the petition, on the occasion of the April 30 holiday, Ms. Mai, Mr. Chuong and a group of Buddhists in Hanoi participated in a tour combined with charity work.

The journey ended on the afternoon of May 3rd, on the way through the Tang Dam (in the area of Huong Tich Pagoda, Ha Tinh), the boat ran aground. Some people in the group went into the water to help push the boat. After the boat was pushed out of the ground, everyone was pulled onto the boat one by one.

Mr. Pham Hoang Chuong had climbed onto the boat at that time, but when he saw 2-3 people stumbling and struggling in deep water, he did not hesitate to jump back into the water and swim out to rescue them.

Unfortunately, while rescuing people, Mr. Chuong was swept away by the water. The next morning (May 4), authorities found his body about 30 meters from the accident site.
