The above cadres and party members always think they are "safe" and "no one knows" that they are dishonest in declaring their personal background, assets, and income, "lying to superiors and deceiving subordinates" in reporting results, cadre comments, and annual evaluations of party member quality.
On forums, in conferences, in front of the collective, superiors, and subordinates, they always demonstrate integrity and honesty... but they do the opposite of what they say. More dangerously, some high-ranking officials are dishonest, take advantage of their positions and powers, cover up for criminals, manipulate, profit, lose money, state assets, and waste social resources.
Dishonesty is the seed that nurtures personality degeneration, destroys the "political honor" of oneself, one's family, and one's clan; it is the cause of dissatisfaction among the people, cadres, and party members. It also negatively affects the prestige of the Party and the image of the country; it is an excuse for hostile forces to take advantage of, deepen internal conflicts, and accuse them of being "factions", "internal strife"... to sabotage our Party and State.
It must be affirmed that the strength, prestige and honor of our Party are first and foremost reflected in the loyalty, steadfastness and honesty of its members. Over the past 90 years, millions of cadres and Party members have not only demonstrated their loyalty to the Party and their steadfast will to the revolution, but have always been honest with the organization, the people and themselves. They are the leading factors that have made great and historic achievements in the cause of innovation, national construction and defense; bringing our country to the foundation, potential, position and prestige it has today.
The sacrifice, loyalty and honesty of party members become a model, a symbol of noble personality in the hearts of the people.
Every cadre and party member must seriously look back at themselves, look back at the work they are undertaking before the Party and the people. They must realize that as leaders and servants of the people, honesty is always an important attribute and quality. The higher the position, the more they must understand this and resolutely fight against dishonesty in the organization and in the public apparatus. They must respect the truth and reason, and courageously admit their mistakes when they make mistakes. If they want their reputation to be forever remembered, if they want their contributions to be sustainable and long-lasting, each cadre and party member must constantly cultivate and practice honesty, not letting individualism rise up and crush the honesty within themselves.
Currently, Party committees at all levels are beginning to prepare for Party Congresses at all levels, leading up to the 14th National Party Congress. The evaluation and selection of cadres is an important task. The first requirement of those selected must be honesty before the Party and the people. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has directed: "Resolutely do not allow degenerate, corrupt, and dishonest people to enter the leadership bodies of the Party and the State." This is a struggle for beauty and culture in the Party and in society, which also contributes to protecting the regime, protecting the reputation of the Party, for the prosperity of the country and the well-being and happiness of the people.
