Cam Pha: Exploiting the potential for socio-economic development

Cam Pha City is implementing the 2024 working theme in a context of many advantages, difficulties and challenges. With the spirit of solidarity, determination, flexibility and creativity in leadership, direction and management, in the first 6 months of the year, many local socio-economic targets have met the plan. This is a solid foundation for the city to continue to exploit development potential in the last months of the year.

Comrade Trinh Thi Minh Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, grasped the operation situation of the high-tech shrimp farming model in Cong Hoa commune (Cam Pha city).

Pursuant to Resolution No. 20-NQ/TU (dated November 27, 2023) of the Provincial Party Committee, Cam Pha City Party Committee issued Resolution No. 36-NQ/TU (dated December 5, 2023) on the locality's directions and tasks for 2024, with the theme of the year's work being: "Focus on removing difficulties, unlocking resources, attracting investment, improving the quality of economic growth. Improving the quality of economic growth; developing culture and people rich in Quang Ninh identity".

From the identified goals and themes of the year, Cam Pha City Party Committee has issued more than 1,100 documents of all kinds to lead and direct the implementation of tasks in a practical, focused, key and comprehensive manner; lead and direct Party committees and Party organizations and require cadres, Party members, civil servants and public employees in the area to constantly improve quality, discipline, administrative discipline, and public ethics; effectively handle work related to people, organizations and enterprises, with the motto: "Clear people - clear work - substantial - effective", with a working style of "Scientific - meticulous - close - attached to work - high responsibility".

With the goal of unlocking resources, attracting investment and improving the quality of economic growth, the city organized direct working sessions with the Korean Embassy, ​​the Korean Business Association in Hai Phong City and a number of Korean enterprises to discuss cooperation, attract investment, connect socio-economic development; exchange experiences and survey some new models in some neighboring provinces and cities.

The city coordinated to establish policies and adjust policies for 13 non-budget projects; received and resolved some recommendations from TKV and Dong Bac Corporation under its authority; organized meetings with businesses to promptly remove and resolve difficulties, obstacles and recommendations.

By the end of June 2024, the production value of industrial and construction sectors of Cam Pha City is estimated to reach over 63,700 billion VND, an increase of 5.2% over the same period in 2023; the total production value of agriculture - forestry - fishery is estimated to reach 685 billion VND, an increase of 10.7% over the same period; total retail sales of goods and service revenue is estimated to reach 25,400 billion VND, an increase of 19% over the same period; the total number of tourists is estimated to reach 838,000, revenue is estimated to reach 495 billion VND; domestic budget revenue is estimated to reach over 5,570 billion VND, equal to 43.78% of the plan assigned by the province, equal to 43.69% of the city's plan, equal to 86.74% over the same period.

At the 27th Conference of the Cam Pha City Party Committee (term XXIII) held on June 26, the Cam Pha City Party Committee determined that the economic growth rate in the last 6 months of the year would reach 7.7%, striving for 7.6% for the whole year. The Cam Pha City Party Committee requested Party committees at all levels, local authorities, agencies and units in the area to strengthen solidarity, unity, maintain discipline and administrative order; promptly remove bottlenecks, difficulties and obstacles, proactively resolve them within their authority, not wait, rely on, not push, avoid removing difficulties, creating conditions for businesses and people to develop production.

Standing Deputy Secretary of Cam Pha City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong said: Cam Pha City Party Committee focuses on reviewing the targets and objectives set out in Resolution No. 36-NQ/TU, assessing the level of completion, thereby identifying key tasks and solutions, striving to complete them comprehensively in 2024. The City Party Committee's viewpoint is not to adjust the targets and objectives for 2024; requiring Party committees at all levels, authorities, sectors, agencies, units, and localities to promote the spirit of proactiveness, positivity, innovation, creativity, daring to think, daring to do; resolutely not backing down in the face of difficulties, steadfastly pursuing the set goals with high determination, great efforts, and more drastic and effective actions, with focus and key points.
